Take her out and test during acceleration, steady cruise, and WOT. The way to test is to release the throttle by 1/8-1/4 turn. If the engine speeds up a bit, you are too lean. If the engine stumbles then smooths out, you are too rich. This test works best during acceleration or at WOT. Since I richened it last night, when i dove it home I was getting an occasional stumble during acceleration that I wasn't getting before, I think I will just turn the screw back to where it was until I get a chance to take the carb back out and throw in a smaller jet I know this sounds silly, but did you check all the exhaust bolts for snug fits? If the tube is loose it can pull in air on the exhaust port and pop sometimes. yes, and i slapped one of these on last week.as well www.partsforscooters.com/190-51-Premium-Metal-Exhaust-Gasket?sc=31&category=132548 i also tried spraying wd40 on the intake manifold and other various parts to make sure there were no cracks or leaks

Yea I've been playing around with the a/f without much luck, everyone's been saying it's lean, I gave it about a turn counter clockwise and the popping is way worse should this lead me to believe it's too rich? The screw was almost closed before I'm guessing I should probably switch to a smaller jet?

Changed idle jet to 38 also the popping has gotten louder after adjusting the valves

Yes sorry forgot i played around with 110-125 landed on 115 not really sure if it's right feel like my rpm revs arnt as obvious as the how tos to follow also on start up it idles very low around 1000 almost turning off but once it warms up to stays about 1800 and pretty much holds there dunno if that tells you anything

So i am still getting a loud popping on decel, so i adjusted my valves to .005 they were nearly closed changed both oil ls and put in a new spark plug but I'm having a hard time understanding the read even looking at a chart this is with 15 miles on it mostly all WOT just to clarify this is in response to my new uni and exhaust

Are you sure you are waiting until the enricher turns off before adjusting the a/f? Also since it's new you may want to check the valve lashing Also how does your spark plug look? That will give you the best read of how it's running I'm almost thinking you are running a little lean for the exhaust popping are you sure you arnt getting any exhaust leaks?

Lol yea you would spend atleast that much on a decent quality chain breaker anyway

Being a bike mechanic I'm messing with chains constantly, its actually very easy, all you really have to do is see which is a male link and which is female and break it in the appropriate spot. (Male link has a pin that you push into a female link) the biggest mistake you can make is pushing the pin out too far or even worse all the way out if you decide to break the chain take it very slowly and keep seeing if you can pull it apart because once you go too far it's alot more work to get it back together
Also once you get the chain back together you might notice the pin that you just pushed back in will feel stuck and not as movable as all the other links. Put the breaker on the other side of that same pin and give it just a little push back out sometimes the pins need to be wiggled a bit to loosen them back up once putting them back together

Tired looking on Google with no luck I've seen plenty of how tos that say to set the lashing at .003 and .005 What I'm wondering is is this just the norm or does it vary based on different mods/elevation etc?

I got my scooter new and it does the exact same thing, there's a little play on the throttle before it engages

So I've been working on tuning my carb and basically my question is to avoid having to wait for the electric choke to turn off after its warmed up can I just disconnect the wire?

If it's somehow related I hear a light high pitch rattling/squeaking sound coming from somewhere in or near the crank case after riding for a little while, haven't opened it up yet Took all the bolts off one time but couldn't get the cover off
