Preferably somewhere local, not really sure where to look, can't even really seem to find what I'm looking for online. I checked the local scooter place and autozone The one i have is 4inch diameter is there something else i can use preferably something stronger?

Well! I did it. I bought a Tao Tao 150cc Roman from Killermotorsports. It was $929 delivered. I inspected it upon arrival and 2 holes we're punched through the cardboard crating. No damage inside though. The battery was filled and fully charged and the tires have sturdy looking stems. I changed the oil but still need to put the iridium spark plug in as an upgrade. Haven't changed the gear box lube yet. Can't seem to find the drain and fill plugs. Also, it looks as though I'll have to remove the outer plastics to get to the spark plug. I've been riding it for practice in the church parking lot across the street. Still waiting for the paper showing the country of origin so that I can get a title for it, then insurance, then a plate, then take the riding and written test to get my motorcycle endorsement. I had no idea it would be this involved! It is, indeed, a thrill and hoot to ride though. No regrets on my part. The price was right too. Your gear oil should have a fill and drain screw near the cvt on the back left as for the spark plug you should be able to access it by removing the seat bucket i have a Tao tao powermax, looks a bit different than yours but I'd imagine the layout is mostly the same I'm happy with my taotao, only real problem I've had is the exhaust mounting brackets breaking off and exhaust needing to be replaced but for the most part you csnt beat the price, just keep up with maintenence welcome to the forums and good luck with your new scooter! forgot to mention i also had to replace the vacuum lines after about 6 months they were pretty poor quality, deteriorating

Alright so I've finally gotten a handle on carb tuning, next on my list would be to start upgrading the cvt so wound it be better to just save up and get something like this www.partsforscooters.com/169-159-GY6-Transmission-Kit?sc=31&category=132543Or should i go one part at a time? Two things I'm trying to improve. First my scooter doesn't really coast until under 2500ish rpm, it always feels like it's pulling to slow down. Second i would like to improve acceleration it's ok if i have to trade off a few mph i max out at about 56mph.at 7900rpm, the road i take to work is stop and go 45mph And I'm always the fasted, but not when it comes to starting from stopped. I don't really know what parts would be good to start out with or if I'll benefit from a package deal. Also i plan on replacing my belt with a gates still have the original on 6000km from when i bought it new. not sure if i should but exact same size or if there is different belt variations with different benefits.

Could it be that the valves are too tight?

switched back to the 35 pilot and it significantly reduced low decel popping which leads me to believe the extra 4mm length on the pilot was the cause guess gas couldn't get through I'll have to do since searching and find the 24mm length one and see if that works

m.ebay.com/itm/111447165602?&txnId=1357809141001i got this carb to replace the stock carb on my taotao (wanted to change the jets and adjust the a/f and didn't want to do any cutting or drilling) It is most likely a clone but we had a thread where someone contacted keihin and they couldn't confirm or deny whether it was genuine

Dropped the main to a 115 from a 120, hasn't done anything for the low speed popping but other than that it's fine Now here's where I have a question that I dont know if anyone really has an answer: My carb has a stock 35 pilot jet, its overall length is 24mm when i purchased new idle jets i could only find a 38 and a 40 with a 28mm length so the 38 I have in there now sits higher than the 35 that was in there I don't fully understand exactly how the gas flows to know if this has a negative effect due to the extra height or not but I'm suspecting it could be my problem. I suppose next I'll put the stock pilot jet in, see what that does, and if still a problem try the 40,maybe order one in the right length if all else fails Just wondering if anyone had any input on the length

These carbs can sometimes be tricky. Supposedly the pilot doesn't only come into play at idle. The pilot is also active through much of the throttle range. Let's say your pilot is too small but your main jet is too big . the main and the pilot are both letting in fuel through the much of th throttle range together. So possibly you leaning out the mixture helped get a better mixture through much of the throttle range , but on decel when the pilot is mainly letting in fuel you are popping because you are still lean . hope you understand that. Are u still running a 115 main ? If so I'd drop to a 110 and raise the mixture. This will give you the same mixture through most of the throttle range but keep you from running lean on decel. i think but honestly i don't remember it's either 115 or 120, either way ill drop it down and size and see where that leaves me

Are you sure? This whole time i thought i was lean bc of the popping but the richer i made it the worse it kept getting. So i leaned out the mixture and that's when it all but went away. I currently have a 38 pilot in, up from the stock 35
Sounds like ive still got a bit of guessing and checking left to figure this out

The way its running now I'm only getting light popping on decel at low speeds and none at high speeds so I'm debating whether I should drop the pilot jet back to stock or if I should try a smaller main jet first and you were right too many mods at once, makes for a little bit if a headache diagnosing issues lol

So I leaned it out as much as possible with the current jet and there's almost no popping at all now just a little here and there very light so i think ill drop down I've jet size and adjust from there
