I agree, why not save a little money and get another stock replacement? Did you notice a difference when you initially switch to the "performance" set?

Got a new "Racing CDI" today, the blue one. The bogging went away, except for after idling for a few minutes, and it only bogs for like a second not even. I am guessing maybe my idle is set a little too high on the rich side? I'll fiddle with it later, otherwise everything seems nice. That's good to hear. How is starting with the "racing CDI"?

I have a stator question. I'm in the process of upgrading to a 11-pole. Everything so far as matches between the existing and upgrade parts. The magnetic pickup and woodruff key positions match on the flywheel. But, comparing the stators it appears they don't match exactly. Does the position of the black primary coil matter? I think you guys need to lighten up a tad. The guy has already made one of the biggest mistakes one can make when rebuilding an engine. It's a lesson he probably will never have to be taught again. At least now he is here and in the future can ask us questions when he isn't sure about something. Seriously guys, these little motors are so simple a well trained monkey can work on them...Just look at all Geh has accomplished. Agreed. Ill say I learned from his mistake also.

If he needs more fuel at take off he can try raising the needle,LOWERING THE CLIP. Not sure if it will help any though,,since its in the main jet circuit...it may,,cant hurt to try. From his original post it sounds like he is running too rich when he first accelerates. Raising the c-clip will lean the mixture out a little till higher RPMs and the main jet takes over.

This is the guide I go by. I have seen it posted on this forum several times. I guess it would have been accurate to say raise the c-clip which lowers the needle and leans the mixture.

mopojo, that a great tip. So the recommendation is using the paper gasket instead of RTV? And if a silicon sealant is used, it should be very sparingly.

lain. Raising the needle leans the carb before the main jet kicks in. Try raising it one notch to see if the bogging at take off reduces. After raising it you may have to richen the fuel mixture screw a dat to balance the idel. But just a little.

I wanted to add,, I was at HF today and noticed alot of their Pittsburgh hand tools like sockets,ratchets,ect.....are made in Taiwan now,,they seem like pretty good quality, plus you get the lifetime guarantee,,just hope the prices don't go up too high.. I have had a set of Pittsburgh torques for a couple years now. Never had a problem with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

TaoTaos are not a bad brand. With them you just have to know how to wrench. With a though PDI yearly, and basic maintainance will prevent most problems. At 4 months now for me, I get bored on my weekends and change the oil for the heck of it. I start to get the itch if i have nothing to fix.
You also have to remember that it is only a scooter. It's not a race bike. It causally gets you from point A to B.
