Not sure how tall is your carb, with that short intake manifold you might have troubles with the carb bowl hitting the engine case, or not fitting at all. With the new carb I installed, an intake manifold with a lower angle wouldn't fit, it fit just right with the aluminum intake manifold it came with. I think the height is the same, i think the only difference is the length of it...

Quick question. Should I take the oil out before I start this upgrade or would it leak out when I take the cylinder out?
Thanks - Luigi

I already replaced my gas cap with a vented one. I should be good to go then. I will just seal it off and see how that works.
Thank you!!

LOL GEORGE that is supper expensive for a fuel filter... I thought you would have suggested the NCY In-line Fuel Filter I was hoping whatever is attached to it is already a fuel filter and I did not have to do anything. keikara you are right, but for peace of mind I will have to add something that lets air in only without letting any fuel out. I actually tried drilling a hole out of my cap already but not sure if it does anything.. hahaha

Hi All, I started to do my 61mm bbk upgrade. Today I just removed all paneling and while at it I figure let me remove the rest of my EGR since the intake manifold I got has the EGR delete. Anyway it was half off already only part left was the part that went from the gas tank to whatever that big plastic thing is. I removed the Big plastic thing which had two rubber hoses coming out of it. One went to the air box, the other to the air\fuel line i guess for the tank to breath so gas can come out from the bottom. The Air box line I will just close off and I am good to go, however the one coming out of the gas tank am I supposed to add a fuel filter? It has something there already but not sure what it is. here is a pic: if I need a fuel filter, what is suggested? I wanted something that will last, is the below suitable? www.ebay.com/itm/181754236605Thank you

just an FYI I am getting the head ported for efficiency only. Thus the wholes should not be made any bigger. I am not sure when I will get the head back. I hope this week. It looks like it is going to be fairly cold this week. I might start taking the scooter apart this week. I really hope I do not have to take the engine out to do this job.

I was asking some questions at the owners of the ruck shop about the valve springs on the ncy head I got and he said: Don't worry you will never break them . And don't get the titanium one they are not REAL they are just coated that's why we don't sell them. A magnet sticks to them.

I found many pics of the 58.5 mm ncy head with the logo, but could not find one of the ncy 61mm head. Thanks for the tip on gy6racing. I think I'll order the camshaft from them some motorio brand...

George if you are right that is a real shame. What color were the valves spring on yours? I hope it will be good enough as I am investing money to get it ported.
