rockynv thank you I'm definitely wanting to rule out any exterior problems before assuming its engine, as far as the crankcase breather goes I see what youre taking about. Off the valve cover is a hose that leads to the airbox which is where I originally found a large amount of oil buildup. However, there is no sponge inside the airbox, instead there is a chrome metal tube bolted to the head and it expells gases through a port in the valve cover and out an external vent with a sponge inside. It all seems to be unobstructed except for the passage within the cylinder head. I ran a piece of wire as far as I could through this passage and then tried to blow air though it thinking I could hear this air from the crankcase but it literally almost completely holds air, I can hear a faint whistle from inside but that's it, shouldn't there be more of a flow through there that should allow it to breathe better? Is it possibly plugged somewhere inside the crankcase? If youre crankcase isnt venting properly it will be very difficult to get it to take oil with a funnel. Put funnel in filler neck tightly, and pour about 1/4 quart into funnel, if it doesnt immediatly drain into crankcase, then you have a venting issue... Easiest way to tell i've found so far... If it doesnt take oil immediatly, remove hose from top of valve cover and see if that helps, if it does then the vent problem is in the hose. Note this procedure only works with scoots without a pcv valve attached to case vent hose. Also note DO NOT OVERFILL ON OIL. Check levels as the bike is ridden(both tires on ground, bike vertical not leaned), not on centerstand or sidestand. Edit: remove hose from airbox and see if this helps relieve the issue, if it does then extend this hose to somewhere up high on the frame, and be good to go. Venting crankcase gasses back into the intake will gum up carbs, valves, etc. I always vent to atmosphere via a catchcan on my rides, but the catchcan really is optional.

MC-12-150 . . possibly the piston rings/valve seals are shot Speculating a GY6-B engine . . cylinder stud spacing is different from typical GY6 engine.
Concur there may be a piston ring blow-by issue.
Might also verify that a deficient vacuum fuel petcock diaphragm is not allowing fuel to bypass the carb.
May be overfilled if checking oil on sidestand or centerstand. I always check mine as the bike is ridden, both tires on ground, straight vertical. Did you do the leakcheck with the engine hot? Worn valve seats can seal at colder temps and open up at higher temps, allowng oil from the top end into cylinder...

So guys i found my problem, 2 years ago i remove the kick start because i was broken and i try to fix it but i get only angry with that piece of S, anyway it was a the hole in the crankcase for the things of the kickstart in wich it was a spacer that i just forgot there, now with the fall that thing come off because it landed on the tranmission side. Duh..easy fix only that it need to take the clutch away and all those bolts, now i put it back together because it's a sunny nice day here in a long time and the scoot must be ready Great! Be easy an ride safe.

The gy6 service manual I mentioned before says the torque spec for this nut is 28ft lbs. That isn't all that much, especially compared to how tight it was on before. What do you guys usually torque it down to? I want to make sure it doesn't come loose when I finally get it back together. Motonosity, a youtuber I often watch did a Honda Ruckus build series and he had this nut come loose. You can hear about it at the 15:45 mark of this video. two or three impacts from my gun works. Id say two decent blows with a hammer on the end of a 12" wrench after torqueing to spec just to be safe.

With a 1/2 inch drive impact socket, 5 foot long pipe for leverage, spanner wrench wedged against the floor to keep the shaft from turning and a 210+lbs man sitting on the scooter to keep the scooter from lifting up off the floor by the spanner wrench's handle while turning the nut loose (which was still almost not enough to weigh it down), I was finally able to get the nut off. Now I can take it apart and see what's wrong. I would have invested the $20 into an impact. Makes pulling car tires alot easier too for regular maintenance/inspections. Check for all the above and report back please..

According to Amazon. the Quantum Tour is a 150. Plenty of hot rod parts available for that engine and cvt on line. Read some more threads about it before spending your money. The first three are "musts" in my opinion. After that, its all optional: -Unlimited cdi (recommend tvnacmans gold casoli cdi for the 150s) -iridium plug -tunable carb -freeflow filter -freeflow exhaust -clutch with larger pads and stiffer springs (i used yellow 1500rpm for my 150 build) -yellow torque spring -oversized variator with coated ramp

hey all! I just purchased a new quantom tour, I'm seeing if anyone has a list of recommendations to upgrade this bike? Ive upgraded the spark plug Heres what I've pieced together so far as things needing to replace, belt replace with Kevlar, anybody know what size I need? Uni air filter, not sure what else needs to go with it other than the foam . anything else? id like to eventually put some more power in it. But it's a nice ride so far... I've never owned a bike before What size engine and what size back tire? My reccomendation is derestricted exhaust, uni filter, new tunable carb(stock cant be adjusted), and a cvt weight/spring tune.

I installed a yellow torque spring, it was quite a bit bigger than the stock one. Thinking they may have sent me one for a 150 instead of a 50... Anyway, shredded two belts in under 25mi of riding.
Would to tight of a torque spring cause this issue?

from my experience the clutch springs determine where your clutch engages. ideally with the proper weights it will put you into the power band. for example my clutch doesnt engage till about 6k rpms. once it engages I can adjust what the belt does by the weights of my variator. Yeah, think im going to go with a cvt tuning kit off of amazon and install the blue clutch springs and try to get her around 5k launch and 8k cruise.

Bando is a Japanese company with 17 plants in 15 countries, so take your pick. Yeah, couldnt find anything usa made, so i decided to support a local bussiness instead and got their best belt. Made in china, as usual

I was riding home when my scooter stopped moving i heard like a pop noise the bike starts and but won't move and now I'm leaking oil.it was 111 outside.did it overheat and the belt broke??any commets will help.this is my only transportation. Broken belt most likely, the oil leak is probably a gasket. Determine where the oil is coming from (eg: between the valve cver and head, from the crankshaft seals, etc) and report back. Is it gear oil or motor oil? Gear oil is thcker than the motor oil and motor oil will be discolored (dark brown/black). The more information we have, the easier it is to give you a solution.

Ive read that, several times. Thats how i come to the conclusion i did. Im more of a hands on person, but my wallet cant afford a bunch of rollers and all three springs sets for the clutch to do trial and error... Guess im just looking for confirmation before i spend my hard earned money on useless mods...
