dmartin95 I went by this handy graph a fellow forum member made. wildswede.se/Baotian/Cam_horsepower2.jpgYou can see the difference between all the cams and how they should perform at what RPM. On the chart, the higher the line on the left the more low end torque the cam has and the higher it is on the right shows how much pull the cam will have until it peeks then starts to taper off. No my motor idles at about 1700 but as soon as I hit the gas I'm cruising at 65K @ 25 MPH. The lighter rollers I put in allowed the motor to operate at a higher RPM, To tone it down some I went back to the stock 12 gram weights. Now I can cruise at a lower RPM before getting into the power band of my cam. As far as roller weights and your CVT, it's just a matter of trial and error. Different rider weights and size all have an effect on how much RPMS your roller weights will allow your motor to run. They are cheap enough that it's not a huge deal to buy a couple of different sizes and try them out. Most start at 12 grams and go from there.

That last one might be of use...thanks! I never really thought we could put the taida stuff on our engines. But I guys as long as it's 54mm spacing it all should fit.
Edit: The reason I want to avoid boring my case is down time. I don't have a car so it sucks to have to get a ride for a week wile I'm waiting on the boring to be done. Wile if I had an already bored out case as part of a kit, I can just reassemble it almost as fast as I tore it apart.

rcq92130 Boring my case would take an extra 2-7 days depending on the shop's work load. But I do see your point. Tho "if" I were to want to go BIG I would rather just buy a kit that comes with a bored out case. Only problem is that most kits I can find have a long case. There are not many kits for a short case listed. I am really starting to wonder what else besides some body (rear fender) mods I would have to do to just go with a long case. I should still be able to rum my 10" rim. alleyoop Yeah I'm having serious doubts about that kit, but he does sell a true 60mm kit that RCQ (you seen the measurements) has.and it fits with no boring. As you know that's 155cc for a 58.5 BBK to 163.5CCs. Talking to him in email, his english is not so great. I get the feeling that he's not exactly getting the point of my questions. .

Of coures www.ebay.com/itm/SCOOTER-GY6-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-TAIWAN-60MM-CYLINDER-KIT-CYLINDER-HEAD-CAMSHAFT-/181564749082?vxp=mtrWith this kit you get to choose what cam you get. Wile I like the A11 I have, I would really like to try the A8. Since I'm like you and not worried about top speed, it should have better power at lower RPMs, always being at 6500 get's annoying at slower speeds. I had 10 ounce rollers in and it had the motor operating in the perfect power band starting dead at 6500 to 8000. I put the stock 12 grams back in and it doesn't hit the power band until I'm almost running 40. But will still hit 60 and has plenty of power to go at only 7200 RPMs. Forgot to say; I really like that exhaust. I would love to but can't put one like that on my scoot. Like the one I have it would point the muffler right into my body panel.. I had to cut 3 inches off of mine and it still hits when I hit a bump. I would be afraid to cut one like ours, It would probably flub it up.

Not to be a downer, but I'm really hoping the failure wasn't caused by shotty parts. I'v very curious as to how well this new setup holds together. I'm currently talking to this vendor about one of his stroker setups. He is saying that this 62mm BBK with a 6mm stroker crank does not need engine case boring to be installed. I can only guess that the piston is shorter and the spacer he includes allows this kit to be installed without having to bore the case. www.ebay.com/itm/191353548901?item=191353548901&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr

Yup, thank you Scooter for posting this. It also has swayed me to going electric. Like I've said many times before, if our problem stems from a drop in vacuum, a better vacuum operated pump won't solve our issues.

small carbs give quick throttle response. bigger carbs give better mid range and top end power. a cvk 28 will give good enough top end for up to about 180cc. chances are that your carb is a cvk28 if it's 150cc stock. just re jet if that's the case. Nope... The 150cc GY6 comes with a 24mm carb. dmartin95 It depends a lot on how much modification you want to do. If all you do is put a BBK on and don't do any porting to your head, then you can run a 26mm carb up to, I'd guess about 180cc. Ally is running a 26mm carb in his stroker setup. I'm positive the combination of porting the crap out of my head and the tunnel ram intake are what's letting me get away with running a 30mm carb and it performing like it does. It's gives great throttle response and runs like a bat out of h*ll. The stock 40 pilot jet and 125 main jet were too small, causing me to run lean. But having said that, yesterday we had a cold snap where it got down into the low 40s causing me to run a little rich. Can you link me to this CC graph you found?

Thanks! I need to work on the exhaust a lil more. It's got a pfft pfft sounds because I removed the glass from the muffler and cut it down 3 inches so it wouldn't hit my rear body panels. There is still a couple of inches of the internal pipe that's full of holes left on the tip end. So I'm going to cut the rest of that pipe off and see if I can't open the exit hole up a bit more.

ricardoguitars From what I've heard (read) about that B case is that it's still just a 150cc, unless you buy all the BBK goodies to get it up to the 200+cc beast that it "could" be. Depending on what motor you currently have, you night as well just look into a BBK with a larger cam and possibly a stroker crank.

Welcome to the forum..Looks like you are going to have one heck of a scoot once finished. I'm really surprised you had so many issues from a Yamaha. I always thought they were better than that.

My ex was following a semi like that on day in her Ford Explorer when he suddenly jumped to the right lane to avoid a DOT guy making a U-turn. She totaled her suv and almost killed the DOT guy.
I wouldn't follow a semi like that on a scoot just out of fear of road gaters.

Thanks for the confirmation of measurement. That's exactly what I was wanting to know.
Good luck this time round.

I've read the a good windshield should reduce drag.. I'm kinda thinking about getting a taller one so I can lay it back more. The riding position on my Land is such that my head is a good 2 feet from the handle bars.
