When I'm doing carb adjustments or any other testing thats going to require a lot of starting over and over again, I've actually killed my battery doing this before. So now I'll hook a charger up set on 10 amps for the actual starting of the engine then remove it.

Looks like an updated version of the corbin sparrow. I dunno bout the ellio but the reverse trike design of the corbins were very sketchy in turns. One had to be mindful of your speed to keep it from tipping. It's a common problem for tadpole trikes that don't lean into their turns. The corbin is 100% electric but failed as a consumer product due to in large part of the antiquated lead acid batteries it used. There where internal corporate issues as well.

With how cheap hot coils made specifically for our GY6 engines are, why would you do this. The headache of trying to sort out the wires isn't worth the few bucks you might be saving, and that's only if you happen to have a spare coil for a car laying around.

That scooter is freaking sweet! Someone put a lot of work into the way that thing looks. I love the wood on it.
Reading all the horror stories about needing a full face helmet I've decided to buy one and wrap it in the same fashion. This one being a half helmet will live in my under seat storage as a spare for any passengers I may need to let ride with me. Again I figure, why pay over 300 bucks for one when I can get a decent helmet for about 100 bucks and wrap it myself..

I didn't vote because my option isn't listed. Ethanol free gas is next to impossible to find here. Off of the top of my head, I can't really think of even one station that has it. But having said that, I know how picky the carbs are on these little air cooled engines and with only having to buy 1.1 gal at a time. I just opt for the best gas avaialble. Like has been said usually your higher octane has additives that are "supposed" to help keep your engine (and carb) clean. I don't know ohow well they work, but at the very least they can't hurt.
Heck once I'm done building my engine up the way I want it with at least 11 to 1 compression octane booster isn't a bad idea, and with 75+ MPG and only 1 gal at a time, this is still a very affordable option.

I love it!! More "alternative" vehicles need to be available to the US market. I'm all about the electric ride. It's freaking great to be cruising at 45+ mpg and have dead silence. When I went on disability, I had to get rid of my $500 a month car so I built an electric bike that was capable of 45 mph for 30+ miles on a single charge. The motor is actually capable of close to 100 mph provided you have enough $ to pay for the $1500 worth of lithium batteries needed to do this. My battery alone was over $800. That's what is in the rear luggage rack. The size and weight of a car battery (little smaller actually) but worth about 12 car batteries in power. i1287.photobucket.com/albums/a624/xyshannen1/316803_1944266545460_2123263427_n_zpsb95df448.jpgI rode this bike for almost 5 years until recently I decided This thing not safe to drive in this city. Jacksonville is one of the worst cities for bicycles. Not only is the city huge and spread way out, there are very few to no actual bike lanes. Not to mention drivers here are just straight up a holes when it comes to cyclists. I literally would keep a pouch of rocks and smack your car if you did something stupid. I had to refill that pouch way too often. But because the electric aspect of the bike made me aware of the downfalls of fossil fuels, I still hate burning gas. With the cost of electric cars being way out of my budget, I opted for the scoot.

Turning it all the way in like that leans the crap out of your idle.. And just at a guess your running very lean and need to change both the pilot and the main jets to a larger size.

Those ain't scoots, that actually is their air force. After WWII that's all they are allowed to have now.

captaincrunnk LOL I hate wearing long pants or jeans! One of my biggest gripes about living in DC was that I couldn't wear shorts most of the year like I do here in Florida. I only lasted up there for 2 years before I told my company "we gotta make other arrangements" and moved my butt back home. This Florida boy doesn't do snow!

Thanks man...There are a few things I'm not happy with but for a first attempt at taking something flat and making it round, it turned out pretty good. I'm going to do another one for a friend and with that one I'll try to do some things better. Like make the pieces more symmetrical and keeping the connecting pieces straighter wile gluing them before stitching.
Leather craft really isn't that difficult. Sure there are some rudimentary skills like learning to sew and have it turn out nice and neat. But other than that and a few other little tricks here and there. It's basically just some creativity, the ability to read a ruler and make a clean cut. The cutting part takes some practice. Especially when you're working with really thick stuff like my seat cover. I have to keep a diamond sharpening stone on my workbench and run my knife on it every 1-2 feet worth of leather I cut. And sometimes like in the case with my seat I had to break out the jig saw.

OK so the idea is to have it there between the belts but not always touching one side or the other. It's just more for when that bottom does slap it gives it something to slap against that will keep the amount of slapage down to a minimum.
Kick Start? pfft I got rid of that hunk of junk a long time ago. The way I see it, if your car wont start..you don't get out and kick start it. So if my scoot wont start one day.. I'm just gonna have to call for a ride.

Sorry ms kitty I didn't see you there. Thank you very much. wheelbender6 I admit to having to look up what a boardtrack replica was. I never have been a big fan of the modern bicycles with the 50cc ebay kits in them, but those vintage ones look flipping sweat. I would so rock the crap out of one of those!

oldchopperguy Thanks but naa don't bother my man. The cost of shipping it will be more than just buying a new one with the free shipping in my next order from partsforscooter.com Agreed on the starter! @ 39 bucks for a new one from the aforementioned web site it's just easier to buy a new one and know you have one that should last a good bit.
