Anyone know where to get a rebuild kit for gy6150 (157QMJ) starter? Would like to have the "brushes" but a full rebuild kit with o-rings, oil seal and brushes would be even better.

I have not seen kits to rebuild these starters, though they may exist. I think you would be best served by replacing the starter with a new one. If you look around, they are available at "somewhat" affordable prices. Changing one out is pretty easy, while taking one apart and re-assembling one is sort of a pain. I've done it, and I believe I would save up and just get a new one.
Just my opinion...

I just had to replace my starter with less than 2k miles on it, When I opened it up I found that what failed was actually the thick copper wire inside the casing going to the wire on the outside. It melted in 2.

Deja vu... My Xingyue did the same thing the third day after delivery... I removed the starter and took it apart, found the problem and fixed it... BUT... re-assembling the dang thing was a PIA... I'd rather pay for a new one and just change it out... On the "plus side" though, it was still working fine after nearly seven years!
Just my personal opinion...

PS: I found my original 150 fan-shroud if you need it.

oldchopperguy Thanks but naa don't bother my man. The cost of shipping it will be more than just buying a new one with the free shipping in my next order from partsforscooter.com Agreed on the starter! @ 39 bucks for a new one from the aforementioned web site it's just easier to buy a new one and know you have one that should last a good bit.
