"ScootTuner" created a thread -> link below. In it he stated one of his mods was "2002 Ford Crown Vic ignition coil" in place of the OEM coil and plug wire. The first picture in his thread shows the Coil on pack on the sparkplug. Qmb Rat Project Basically, a "coil on pack" on the spark plug. I asked a question in thread about doing this and sent him a PM. He has not logged on since Jun 28, 2014 at 5:56pm. ( 3 months as of today ) Does anyone know any particulars to install one of these on the gy6150. Wiring particulars, other necessary mods / parts swaps, etc Thanks for any specific info.

With how cheap hot coils made specifically for our GY6 engines are, why would you do this. The headache of trying to sort out the wires isn't worth the few bucks you might be saving, and that's only if you happen to have a spare coil for a car laying around.

Better spark - longer lasting (made for and used on police vehicles) - more Ummmph at "higher" RPM & possibly better gas millage. Idealistically it would also help result in a cleaner cylinder & head.

Made for a police vehicle or not, I very highly doubt it will give you any increased umph over a coil designed for you scooter, and that is being generous.
