If I was a shop I could swap stuff around all day and come up with some conclusion but alas i'm just a guy at home that people bring things to from time to time...That is a good idea though if I can find another scooter. I'll call the guy that owns the last one I worked on and see if I can borrow his. I don't know if I would be happy or upset with 3 bad cdi units at this point. I have a solution for you, I sell tested cdi's. John |

Take the cdi and plug it in a running scooter. See what you get try all 3.

I'm surprised Matt has given so much time and effort on this. Seems simple to me...return the part, get a refund if it wasn't used or not electrical. seems maybe the statement on the invoice 'customer ordered wrong part' was just offensive to him? perhaps the invoice should say instead "consumer measurement error" John |

Are you getting spark? Are you getting steady pulse?
Have you checked gap of pick up coil?
I don't think its your stator.

There are Gates clones, Is it a powerlink? As for the variator I agree with geh3333 you need to remove the clutch and variator and inspect. John |

if you have a harness from another scooter, separate the ignition coil, stator bullet connectors and cdi plugs. Unplug the coil stator bullet connectors and cdi. Connect the the harness you split see if it starts up.

One guy sells parts the other guy buys parts, the guy selling wants the guy buying to be riding. The guy buying wants to get the correct parts so he/she can ride.
Ok there is a fitment issue here, why bother to expend all this energy to point fingers. Lets get this figured out, is it part error or is there something different about your engine causing it not to fit? Lets get it figured out and move on .
The strange thing here is you guys are bickering over what $20, For what like the twenty makes a difference to either of you.

perhaps there is a twist here what scooter do you have? What size wheels?
I have spoken to Matt several times, he is a good guy.
Often when experiencing a problem with online or over the phone orders. I will ask for a manager or supervisor. Often times that helps get things resolved.
