I am looking to buy new scooter, the 200 pathfinder looks good,is the engine just a bigger version of the gy6 150 ? Any thoughts on this scoot would be appreciated. Not sure they still sell the Pathfinder. The BMS webite lists these scooters: www.bmsmotor.com/scootersHowever, you may find a dealer that still sells NEW older year models.

i found my 50cc locally for 300 bucks. (used) it was a really decent chinese scooter and probably still out there running. i found my 250cc semi locally for 1000 bucks with 80 miles on it. this scooter was a total pain in the butt until i ironed out all the problems with it. after i ironed out the problems, she was a real screamin' queen. so beware, there are good ones and bad ones. The problem is she just went through this and would have had to replace literally every single thing besides the crank and topend. Luckily she found someone who wanted to buy it off her for parts for the same amount she bought it for so I told her to just get a new one to avoid that again and have been helping her to find one since. The scooters at killermotorsports seem nice A lot of people on here have bought their scooters from Killers

Jimboeau, Have a bone on the old chopper guy for "taking the plunge" and getting a first-class scoot! And, I think you got a very good deal! If my old 2007 Grandvista 250 is any indication of Kymco long-term durability, your new-generation 300 should last you a lifetime! Seriously, these Kymco scoots seem to me to be built VERY heavy-duty, with daily hard-use in mind. You also discovered the "Kymco squat" seating position... LOL! At first, I wasn't so sure about the seating position, but I quickly got used to it, and now like it. In fact, the lumbar support that forces you forward gives great back-support especially on long runs. With the short knee-room and average handlebar height, I decided these scoots best fit tall people with short legs... LOL! Fortunately, that fits me fine! Sort of reminds me of my Harley bobbers of a long-gone youth. I think you'll find the 300 to have plenty of performance... I test-rode a People 300 which probably uses the same engine/tranny as yours, in a flat-floor step-through design. I was impressed with its acceleration, and it would top mph with little fuss. Please do keep us posted on your experiences with the bike... We need more Kymco riders on the site! Ride safe, and ENJOY the ride!Leo in Texas Thanks Leo! I'm really enjoying the Downtown 300i. Just got it plated and titled yesterday so now I am legal . Yes, the back support between the front seat and riders seat is very nice and I am already used to it. It sure rides smooth with plenty of acceleration. I'll check in often.

The Downtown actually has a seat height of about 30 inches. The seat is forward more than many taller people would like. My inseam is 30 inches and my legs fit on the scooter just fine. Anyone with legs with an inseam of 32 or more have complained about fitment. Many have modded the seat on the Downtown and I read that you can even get an alternate seat now which accommodates longer legged people

I picked up the scooter yesterday, no problems with trailering it home. Put about 50 miles on it today. I really like it. I'm 5'10" but have short legs. So the seat fits about perfectly. Any longer legs might get a bit cramped. That is the one complaint you hear all the time is you need to be short or have short legs to fit into this scooter. Definitely not for tall riders. Has great take-off from a dead stop and corners very nicely. Such a smooth ride compared to the small scooter I'm used to riding. Got it up to about 65 today with plenty to go. It will be nice to be able to ride the scooter to work most mornings

Hello all,
Just bought a new 2013 Kymco Downtown 300i. I'm picking it up on Saturday with a trailer as it is about 100 miles away. It was on sale for $2999 and out the door for about $3270. I think I got a good deal. This will be my first bigger scoot and I am looking forward to riding it. Anyone else have one and how do you like it?

I watched a guy on youtube use a big C vise to remove and install the valve stem, is this the best way. Just wondering That way certainly works

After break-in I've used Mobil-1 0W-40 full synthitic. Seems to work well. I have a Chinese 50cc.

In addition to the fuel and vacuum hoses, I'd give the coolant hoses (and coolant level) a look-see. I think he discovered it was a 150 so he shouldn't have to worry about the coolant or hoses.
