I'm sure someone more experienced with 50's will chime in later. Only thing I may suggest from my experience is maybe loosen the gas cap to allow air to flow into the fuel tank. A similar symptom happened with my 150 when I first got it. I had over filled with fuel and backed up my emission canister....or something along that line... I removed that system and problem solved. That was almost two years ago, don't quite remember the specifics.

Just do something like the adjustable vent on a BBQ grill. Round inlet with holes or a slider bar, screw through the center. Even attach a connector rod so you can control it while riding. Seems simple enough....and cheap. ^)

Got one like that about the size of a Silver Dollar, but much darker, a year ago and still have it. Got it through my jeans while filling up on the right side, now... the wrong side. Learned quickly, the hard way, to fill up from the left.

Okay.... Now I'm curious and confused or maybe a missed a thread somewhere. But, what does this pertain to? I replaced my stock carb a year and a half ago, now it's in a plastic bag in a box collecting dust.

On mine...find three wires, one is ground the others are Hi/Lo. Find your ground (mine's green), probably center pin (make sure), give other two wires 4-5 inches, cut, swap, solder and heat shrink. Be sure to use a meter for testing Ground, Hi and Lo......Or , just get used to it being Bass Ackward....
