I talked to the guy again today when he was sober, and despite his dishonesty about pretending it's a 50, he is actually pretty nice. He was not swearing a blue streak, and was not making racist comments, actually talking quite nicely with me and another Hispanic guy, and really enjoyed talking about scooters. He does not have a title for it and I had to turn him down. He understood and everything was cool. When he brought out the case of beer however, that's when I had to go. Oh, I also found out that the scooter has almost 10,000 km on it and had been run out of oil at one point. I would have just been asking for problems with the scooter.

I ended up drilling the centre and knocking the bolt head off. I had an extra bolt form my old scooter which is now just a spare parts source, so everything is good now.

I used to work as a bicycle assembler and often times the seat tube would be stuffed with a section of Chinese newspaper.

I was trying to remove my CVT cover to replace my bad starter bendix, but one of the bolts had gotten rounded off, and it is stuck solidly. Anyone know how to remove a rounded off bolt?

[replyingto=admin]Doug[/replyingto]I don't even know if he had a title for it since he rides it without registration or plate and pretends it's a 50.

...the guy selling said it was a 50! It looks exactly like the 50cc version of the Agility, and it doesn't say 125 on it. I found out on the test ride when I gunned the throttle and just about popped a wheelie! Then I looked at the speedometer and it went up pretty high. When I got back I commented to the guy, "Gee, that's pretty fast for a 50cc". He said "Oh, yeah. Just tell the cops its a 50cc". It's a nice bike, but I don't want to deal with someone who is that dishonest. Plus the dude was drunk, cussing up a storm and using openly racist remarks, apparently not realizing that I'm not white! I think I'll pass!

Right now I'm running 10w40 Mobile 1 synthetic motorcycle oil, but when it gets hotter, I may try 15w40 at my next oil change.

OK, I re adjusted the valves to .002 because they were rattling like crazy, now there is just a VERY faint tapping sound from the valves, and I re adjusted the A/F and it starts and runs MUCH better.

I used to live in indy and I drove on east Washington quite often. Its simply chaotic and not safe on a 50cc. I hated it when I had to ride on that st.

I only use octane fuel. I will try adjusting my A/F to lean it out a little.

I'm having a little bit more trouble starting my TaoTao CY50-T3 since the weather has warmed up. I have to give it some throttle as I'm cranking, and then have to rev it for about 30 seconds or it will die. Once it warms up it idles and runs perfectly. My A/F screw is 2 1/2 turns out and my valves are set at .003. I have a main jet and a 35 pilot jet and a high flow air filter. Everything else is stock.

[replyingto=prodigit]prodigit[/replyingto]I just finished building one of these using the 66cc kit, and even though I still have a lot of tinkering to do to make it run smoothly, it works pretty well. I have it mounted on a Diamondback 24 speed hybrid bike.

Any exhaust made for the GY6 50cc engine should bolt right on with no modifications.

TaoTao CY50-T3 secret 63 with performance CDI and coil, and upjetted with main and 35 pilot, 45 GPS verified. When my Peace Dash 50 was running, It would average about 35 at WOT with no modifications.

Looks like you applied a post-production effect to get rid of shaky cam right? That thing is wicked smooth for a helmet shot, and I can see some warping in the background (which is usually a tell tell sign of subspace warping effects). Is my guess correct? Also great video! Makes me want to do something similar. Yeah, I used the "anti shake" option when I uploaded it to Youtube. The original was not too bad, except on some of the rough streets near the town square.
