I was trying to remove my CVT cover to replace my bad starter bendix, but one of the bolts had gotten rounded off, and it is stuck solidly. Anyone know how to remove a rounded off bolt?

Dremel a slot in it and remove it with a flat head screwdriver Or you can get the right tool for the job. They are called rounded bolt extractors, bolt grip, ect. Most auto stores carry them. Roy

Just drill a hole big enough right in the center of the bolt to make the bolt head pop off. Once you take the cover off you will be able to remove it with your fingers (usually). It is usually the bind between the bolt head (over torqued) and the threads that has it stuck, not the threads itself.

I ended up drilling the centre and knocking the bolt head off. I had an extra bolt form my old scooter which is now just a spare parts source, so everything is good now.
