If you have a few extra bucks I'd look into a new top end for the engine. A better quality top end should last longer then most stock top ends. For instance , you only have 4000 miles on the engine and the top end is shot. I doubt you want to buy a new engine every 4-5k miles . as for the old engine crank " if still good " can last a long time . I have everything but the crank replaced on mine . I replaced the top end when I bought the new engine and I have somewhere around 18,000 miles on her. I'd remove the old crank and put it aside . keep it nice and clean and don't let it rust. Keep all the old parts like the oil pump and , well everything that is still good. You can even use the old crank and engine case as a couple year project, and build an engine to your preference. I think my riding style had a lot to do with the top end dying in 4000 miles, I rode it hard almost full throttle take offs, WOT for % of the ride, then when the carb started to act up and was running very lean, instead of parking until I could fix kept driving it. Probably put close to 200 miles on it running lean after relizing it was lean, and still rode more than 50% of the time at WOT. Granted most days was only a 5 mile ride in and 5 back from work but once a week it was 12 miles in and 12 back, in anywhere from 40 deg F. weather to 120 deg F. And of course that is city driving so stop lights every mile or 2 and during rush hour sit thru 2-3 lights before you make it lol. As for keeping items from the old motor wife already said no, we live in a 2 bedroom apt. with no storage.

So I decided to just order a new motor got from t-motorsports for $330.00 shipped. $270.00 for motor and $59. shipping. As for the old motor has top end removed starter and all plastics. I do not have access to an impact to remove the variator or clutch. The only damage I know of is the cvt cover it's scratched from when I laid it down. I have no use for it however so if you would take it with theclutch and everything, I would be willing to give it to you for just the cost of shipping. Otherwise I am just going to trash the motor, have nowhere to keep it and wife would have a fit lol. After the new Moto gets here I will have a box to ship it in and we can figure out how much shipping will be and how to take care of payment. Send me a pm and we can work out the particulars.

So got the motor torn apart, as you can see it ate the piston. I have the 157QMJ motor. Reason for replacing carb, is it ran fine for a year and now started to act up, has about 4000 chino miles on it and just want to replace. If by TMS you are referring to T-Motorsports, I did find them and they were the cheapest for the motor, did some searches didn't see anything bad about them as far as the parts themselves, all negative reviews were about the customer service being short or rude, but not about problems with returns or refunds. May just lean towards that seeing as with the miles I have probly going to have to start dealing with clutch and belt and who knows what else.

As a side note, I still don't have a lot of money I do not want cheap items but would like as inexpensive as possible, borrowing the money to fix and don't want to take forever to repay lol.

So as I was coming home today my scooter started to act like it had run out of gas, then I start hearing a loud tapping sound. Pull over and scooter of course had died, hit the starter button, and it sounded almost like there was no plug installed. Pushed the scooter the 2 miles home. (why it couldn't of lasted a lil longer ) Pull the plug stick my finger over the hole, hit starter button, and I can feel it has compresion, put not where it should be. So motor is now pulled from scooter, will be pulling the head to see if I burnt a valve or the piston or rings. Dont believe there was any damage to the bottom end, I know I have been running lean, didnt have the money to buy a new carb, was hoping to make it last. So my question is, if I just do a top end I want to do a BBK. Might as well gotta replace the carb and filter anyway. Not looking for anything I would need to modify or crack the case to do, where would a good place be to get the parts from. Or I may just replace the entire motor, and again where would a good place be to get one. TL/DR Blew top end of motor, where to get a bbk kit or a complete motor.

Here in Arizona the plate stays with the owner, and you can either write in on the registration that it was sold and mail it or do it on their website. As far as test rides, most people here I have noticed require cash in hand before the test ride. Saw one who wanted $500.00 on a $2500.00 bike to test ride if you layed the bike down he got to keep the $500.00 unless you still were going to buy it lol. Also most will require to see a valid DL with a motorcycle endorsement, but that may depend on if your state requires the endorsement.

yea I can get one from the shop I bought the scooter from for about $45. However I need to get a new carb and don't have the money for both atm, so if I can save from having to replace it. As for how it happened, I have no clear idea, nor how long it had been broke. Couldnt have been more than a couple days, noticed it was broken while checking the oil while at work, and wasnt that way when I checked the oil like 2 days prior.

I personally would order a new one. A good weld can be as strong or stronger than the original piece, but a single bubble inside can make it weak. I agree, my coworker used to do under water welding so am hoping he can fix. We shall see.

So was at work today decided to check the oil at lunch. Well noticed something a lil scary, the hub of the right side swingarm was broken. U will try and post a couple pics, luckily I have a coworker that used to do welding that says he can fix it. If not looks like I'm ordering a new one.

Reason for the two filters was the dealer, about 2 weeks after I bought the scoot the float stuck and the carb was flooding when they put the new carb on he stated he likes one filter before fuel pump and one after and put the second one in. If there is a filter in the tank then yes it is still there I haven't taken the tank apart, however the fuel pump is on the body of the scoot and is vacuum powered. Also did the carb adjustment no change so going to pull the carb in a couple days and clean then also check the valves while I'm at it.

so replaced the two fuel filters has gotten a little better, had to work so wasnt able to work on it till today. Going to do a carb adjust if that doesnt help going to pull the carb and clean then re adjust.
