dmartin95 Something I just thought of, would I have this issue if I had installed the starter solenoid backwards, so basically putting it on the scooter with the wires to harness going in wrong direction so effectively hooking the cables from battery and to starter on opposite poles?

Battery connections are good, battery is good have 12v to the starter. Everything else is hooked up exactly as it came off with the exception of the r/r. The stator is hooked up to the harness using the same wires and colors as the old one. Will look into more after work tomorrow.

I'm tempted to hook the 4pin back on and see what it does, the wires coming off the stator are the exact same color as the ones from the old motor. Waiting to hear back from dmartin, and for tomorrow its getting dark and I'm tired of messing with it already for the night lol.

dmartin95 So hooked up the wires in the way that you said, hooked up battery turned on key, pulled in break lever light came on, hit starter button and nothing no click nothing, battery is at 12.3 amps while sitting and drops just a little when I pull the break lever.

I was actually able to get the connection apart and will plug onto new r/r, so only wire I have to splice is the one to ignition. Thank you for the help going to put on now.

So looks like I need to cut the wires and wire in the 5pin then. Will I be able to just cut the old plug off put connectors from the correct wire and plug into the 5pin and then just run a black wire to my ignition, and is there a specific wire I should attach to at the ignition?

I have no idea to be honest what the pink wire goes to, it is on the new 5pin and my scooter has a 4pin installed, just trying to get a heads up, I get out of work in about 30min stopping to get gas for the scooter, and firing her up for the first time after the engine swap.

So I am currently at work have been searching for an answer to this, even called the shop I bought the scooter from originally. Bought a new 150cc long case 157qmj I think it is, the new electronics that came with it all hooked up to my original harness except the r/r, my harness is a 4pin and the new is a 5pin. All the wires are the same color save the 5pin has a pink wire. The dealership said I may have to either change to my old stator, rewire for the 5pin, or it may work and just be for accessory power. Just wondering if anyone had ran into this and had no problems just running with the old r/r. The wires coming off the new stator are the exact same number and color and connections, so it has me thinking that maybe they sent the wrong r/r, or is for accessory power, like a phone charger.

got to thinking, my carb may have been new just not cleaned well when put into the box, relized when I pulled the chinoplug to put a NGK plug in it had been ran, unless they put a brand new looking plug in that had been run in something else, plug looked like it had a little run time on electrode.

Yea my box had arrows pointing up and they had it on its side. So new motor is installed, only 2 things so far, the carb was not a new carb looks to have been refurbished but if it works I'm happy, and the new r/r is a 5 plug my harness and old one is a 4 wire, so hope it still will work, done for the night after work tomorrow going to get gas and see if it will fire up and adjust carb, drain oil and refill with new and gear oil, then take for a ride. So should have more tomorrow.

So received my motor today Opened the box expecting to have oil everywhere, being it was on its side when delivered, but lo and behold was completely clean. So don't know if the oil didn't leak or if there is none in motor, find out when I get home today. On a plus did not think that it would come with the brake shoes, doesn't show with on their site nor say anywhere they come with, but mine had new shoes installed already. Will be installing this weekend and doing basically a new PDI for the motor, and will post results soon.

I always wanted a street bike " crouch rocket type " but after hitting the deer I'm sure I would not live too long after buying one ! So for now , thats out of the question , lol. yea hitting the deer would definetly be scary, I plan on riding my scoot for another year or so then upgrading to a motorcycle, not sure what I want to get yet tho.

So I have purchased a new engine for my scooter, bought from T-Motorsports.com, they do sell on ebay and amazon, however I noticed the long case was $10.00 more on ebay. Was $270.00 plus $59. shipping, where ebay was $280.00 with $59. shipping. Ordered at 2:21pm on Sunday, I did know they would not process until next day. Recieved an e-mail at 2:28pm that my order has been shipped. Coming from California to Arizona so hope to have the new motor by end of the week. However I just went to thier website and longcase 150cc is now $290.00 plus shipping. Glad I bought it yesterday lol. Will post when I recieve and what condition everything is in.
