Started scooter today... first time in over a month. It had been down to 0 or lower, so the battery was drained. MY scooter is parked outside covered with a tarp... have no garage. I could not find my battery charger, due to the move, so I put jumper cables on our pickup and the scooter... it started right up. Let it idle some to charge battery. Cant ride it, due to permit is expired. A cop would let me go with a warning, if it was a 49cc scooter, but mine is a 250cc scooter... I think they would frown on that. It is going to be in the 50s and 60s this weekend in MO. Warmer days are coming. come to florida the cops here cant tell the difference between a 50cc a 250cc a moped an electric bicycle or a vetrix m y 250 is registered as a tgb key west with a nh moped tag and i ride on I95 and i got stopped for speeding on the interstate 87mph in a 65mph zone and the cop couldnt figure out how to write up a ticket for a moped so he let me go

they cant really say that ethanol will hurt old cars remember that ethanol is really only bad for some plastic and rubber parts but the older vehicles have less plastic and rubber parts in the fuel system im not talking 80s and 90s but 70s and older you had a steel gas tank steel fuel lines brass fittings steel and aluminum fuel pump aluminum carburetor brass float paper and fiber gaskets then an aluminum or steel intake brass valve guides phenolic or fiber valve seals it would run forever on ethanol but we are in the 21st century where they dont know how to make metal parts anymore about the only pure gasoline made today is coleman stove fuel and if your car starts on it it wont run very well cause its only around 50 octane as for scooters i wouldnt worry about running the 15% ethanol if youre riding it a lot but dont leave it in there if its gonna sit for a long time if youre storing it ru through some 100ll avgas cam2 110 rec etc mixed with startron just if you have one of them modern fuel injected catylized scoots dont run a lot of 100ll or cam2 cause the lead will cause dam age too

im sure a lot of you recognize my name i posted on scootdawg from time to time and most of the other forums and for a while i was a member of the boston branch of moped army
i was in a bad accident a few years ago where i was riding my old jawa moped in florida and some dude hit me from behind and run me over i dont even know really the details of it cause it put me in a coma for 2 months
but now im semi handicapped so all i do is mess with scooters and mopeds my legs hurt too much for big bikes
i have a few i keep my honda i ride every day
so you will see my for sale ads on there with parts for sale no scamming no and definitely no stolen bikes just extra stuff i have around that i dont need and someone else might
i figured id throw that in there cause i know so many people out there scamming other people i dont have anything to do with that crap
also if anybody in treasure coast florida area need any help with scoots or anything hit me up im always around and usually bored

ad on craigslist said yamaha vino with blown engine $300 obo so i talked to the guy and he said yeah the scooter shop said the engine is blown ok let me check it out so i took one look at it and said hmm il give you $150 he said sweet and hands me the title so i get it home then realize its 4 stroke i never even seen one all i ever had was 2 stroke vinos first thing i did was pull the cvt cover off and sure enough the belt was broken and wrapped around the variator yep theres nothing wrong with this engine other than some old gas cleaned the carb and it runs great it just amazes me that someone will just believe what a scooter shop says then just let it go that cheap instead of having another mechanic check it out but this dud obviously has money he lives in a gated golf community im sure he pays his landscaper more than my rent costs

itdhpp this is my headlight linkdavec no problem without the cover and i go offroading through the mud if anything its better since the cover let water in but no way for it to come out and the thing sticking out of the variator is the starter cup off an old tecumseh lawnmower so if my battery dies or my starter gives up i can wrap a rope around it and start it the old fashioned way il take some more pics tomorrow when its light out
