Really unsafe to do that to the extreme in the picture. Just imagine a pant leg or the long skirt of a passerby getting caught in that belt when the engine is running. The thought of someone with long hair stooping to pick up something that was dropped next to a bike running like that makes one take pause. anybody ever tell you how hilarious you are my transmission as its been for the last who knows how many thousands of miles still sticking out there with no problem

the stock gates belts are great or the malossi kevlar belt will outlast your scooter

Yeah, every 250 I've seen with the cf250, you can't ride with the cover off becuase the centerstand will either rub the variator or the belt. yep same with the hondas though i ripped my center stand off cause it hung down too low

yeah i bought one of those $8 belts off ebay and it didnt even last one fast take off it shredded like that

its been like a year since i touched my $22 carb it never fails to work it starts with the slightest flick of the button has manual choke but i have never used it its as reliable as it gets
i mean it is a cool set up if thats what you like
if they come out with a direct injection set up id be interested in it for my lifan-diesel project i been messing with

what happens when it breaks down and dont tell me it doesnt When it breaks down, you fix it. Just like when the carb screws up you fix it. but you cant fix your ecm if it dies

ok well me gears in my old elite 250 are worn out ok well if they are even available from honda they will cost more than the scoot is worth will cf250 gears fit in the honda and if they have a bit higher gearing thats a plus too or if anybody has any good used parts i need #s 4,5,6,7,8

not flamming just asking
im the opposite of the normal 21st century person im very anti tech my car messed up so i ripped out the efi and electronics and swapped in a carb and points distributor
im also running auto advance timing points set up from my old honda passport on my honda elite 250 but the old honda points rusted out so easy enough a set of chevy mallory screw adjust points are cheap then the condenser of a vw bug and i have beautiful spark
im all about running reliable but if it breaks down i can fix it anywhere i am including everglades back country

yeah id say that piston is fine
try a set of rings from a qingqi D1E41QMB but look at them first make sure the alignment pins are the same or close
