Remove seat and side panels. Take oil tank out and empty and replace with good oil. Check the manual or threads for a proceedure to bleed the oil pump and bleed the pump. If you are concerned about air in line use a premix of gas and oil at 50 to 1

Lambretta is made by Adly. Google adly or lambretta and you can find owners manual and service manuals.
Two cycle uses oil mixed with gas so always keep oil in the tank. The oil is injected into the carb with the gas.
Always use good grade two cycle oil. Stay away from cheap two cycle oil. I use Lucus two cycle iol. LLove my Adly.

If you connect the battery it will run down quickly as batteries will equalize. Just use the battery to jump start the scoot and once running will charge the scoot battery. Best guess is bad battery or inadequate charging.

Thanks alley. Saw a video and they said you could damage the ignition if you didn't connect and ground the plug. Also said to turn off the fuel.

Bought tester from Harbor tools. Will that work? I have read that one needs to ground plug and crank with full throttle. Is it ok to just use kick start without plug grounded? What is best proceedure?

Problem solved! Black ground wire, probably a spare next to leads from turn signal switch and below the fork was a red dc wire not connected. Must have been dc current induced. Red wire was connected to grey wire to a small bulb in the headlight reflector which lights when ignition is on. No longer have a problem. Thanks for suggestions.

Turn signals work intermitantly. Thought it was the switch but works fine when ignition on and motor not running. Also works with motor running on stand. Worse at night when cooler. Could it be flasher? Switch seems faulty when riding as when doesn't work can get it to sometimes work by repeatedly on/off. Wonder about vibration causing problem. Switch seems not to click when not working. Suggestions for trouble shooting? Are these parts available in auto stores? Thanks!

I don't know seize. It stopped running a block away. I had opened the pump about 4mm. I shut the pump as low as it would go and the scoot restarted. I see talk of soft seize. Dont understand the definitions. Scoot smooked a lot till I was able to add more fuel without adding more oil. Plug was fouled. Checked the pump initally by disconnecting line to carb and running engine with the oil/fuel mixture and had a good flow.

Several issues. I finally was able to send pics of my CDI dereg. alleyoop go to my deregulation thread, they are there as I edited a thread.
Oil issue; Seller told me that I would need to fill oil reservoir after three tanks of fuel. Checked reservoir and it was not down very far. So I added oilto the gas at 40:1. Then checked pump and it appeared to not be working as the tube to carb did not seem to have any oil in it. Adjusted oil pump linkage and oil appeared in the tube. Made a mistake and ran with pump running and oil added to gas. You can guess the rest. Scoot smoked and quit. Readjusted pump to minim and ran fuel down and added gas with no oil, readjusted oil pump and checked plug and cleaned and gaped. Scoot runningwell now. When this started had 120 miles on scoot. Now have 350 miles and runs well. Do you think I have damaged the motor? Since it runs and sounds ok would you do anything now to check the motor? I estimate that the oil tank is 1 liter so should use about 3 oz per each gallon of fuel. So tank would not empty before 10 gal of fuel. Is this set properly or would I need to increase the oil metering? Scoot has good power at take off and peaks WOT at 7k rpm and41.1 mph. Any and all comments welcome.

Doug I cannot figure out how to copy Pictures from my computer to a post. I am trying to put some pictures of the CDI in response from a request from alleyoop. Forgive my stupidity. I have tried to copy and paste without success. Thanks

Olescoot, Was that brown wire did it go down into your CVT? If you can take a picture of your CDI and the wire you took off or cut would be great. I have a folder on how to de-restrict some of the CDIs on different scoots and I will add yours to it and then add the whole lot to the TIPS and TRICKS so others may take advantage of the info. Thanks Alleyoop
