Nah, he knew he was in the wrong. I see cops all the time breaking traffic laws and never see any of them getting pulled over. Knowing he's wrong won't stop him for arresting you (or just beating you to a pulp with a Maglite) for contempt of cop!

I'm getting sick of people replying to something that I simply never said. Note: a Burgy is HUGE! All depends on what your definition of huge is? Compared to the Honda Silverwing the Burgy is medium. Also I just can't understand how one could or would pay $400 for doing a water pump job to the engine of this scooter when it can be done for less than $100 yourself and that includes total replacement of the seals and impeller if it even needed that. You can even buy a Honda seal kit for it for less than $50 and yes the Honda helix seal will fit it. Also we have a manual here that gives step by step instructions and it's not a hard job. Simple, really: I have nowhere to work on anything and no tools to do so. I wound up paying for labor twice because the crappy mechanical seal from Scrappydog failed immediately upon installation. The $400 was actually that, plus labor for variator rollers & belt. The place that has my scoot has a Burgy for sale...it's as long as the Electraglide parked next to it!

There is nobody around here who will service an Italian scooter. There are at least four places (one a Suzuki powersports dealer) that will service a Burgy! I WANT a larger scooter. I'm a big guy...5'10", 245lbs, and I wear size 11EEE boots. Small is NOT an option.

I am not in the tire business, I never have been. Please remove your libelous statement immediately. You kinda indicated either direct involvement or an ancilary involvent in the industry having had tires exrayed for recapping and seeing the results along with some fleet maintenance of trailers in the work place with tire inspections. "I have seen 8 yr old tires pass a full x ray test for capping" "one trailer at work has passed multiple inspections wearing 10.00-20 tube tires from 1997 and 1999" I drive a truck, the company I work for also has tractor-trailers. The capped tire I mentioned was and is on my Jeep!

Here, he would fail the test. You need LONG SLEEVES!
He's very good...I bet I could do that on my scooter easily enough, but not that huge touring bike.

Chinese scoots are great for those folks that have mechanical ability and the tools Japanese scoots are great for those who don't Save your money this winter. sell the chinese, pool the money and buy Japanese Why, he can buy a Kymco Agility-50 or Agility-125 for several hundred less then even the Honda Metropolitan. Not big enough. If its not highway-capable, I don't want it.

Just got the bill for the water pump job...$400. It would be cheaper to keep a sports car on the road then a Chinese scooter!
I think Im done & my scoot will be on CL come spring. I give up.

Was riding the old ETon (2004) the mile down to the convienence store the other day. Had a lady in a Lexus get pretty close (limit in this section is 35 and I was running wot almost 40) so I slowed and swung over to a turn out to let her pass.....she didn't. So I sped up and kept trucking. Turned in to the store and she followed me in, pulled up with window down and told me my scooter was polluting (its a two stroke) and needs to be fixed. Thank you Mam. Don'tcha love it, listening to the moral preaching of some pampered brat in their (even more polluting) luxury car? Actually, scooters are FILTHY. Modern cars are very clean. Id bet I pollute more in 100 miles.om my Qlinj than I did in the ,000+ I put on my Magnum.

Yet again: Please provide actual EVIDENCE of this alleged "warehouse" full of wrecked cars! Continuing to repeat an assertion does not make it a fact! howdy, agreed, a two wheeled vehicle is another kettle of fish, i was only responding to the apparent idea that a blow out on a four wheeled (or more) vehicle will cause an accident, which is not so as long as the driver doesn't over-react. one needs to change your driving to adapt to poor tires if indeed you are using them, as in don't bomb the corners where there is a tiny guardrail separating you from a 1000 ft cliff. some uncommon sense is in order. lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken Problem is that most drivers don't have the training or presence of mind to react appropriately as evidenced by the warehouse full of crashed vehicle with new looking blown out or separated tires over 5 years old presented to the Florida State Legislature. Even those with CDL training who should know better hesitate to tromp down on the gas to stabilize and end up rolling trucks and buses.
