I reread these again. The most I'd do to my Suzuki is put on the 16 tooth sprocket to get a little better gas mileage. Got 60mpg riding gentler except when I have someone behind me. scootnwinn has a good point the engineers know what they are doing, or else they wouldn't be there. The engineers have to make some compromises, though. Offhand...to pass Kali emissions, some carb'd bikes are tuned so they run very lean. They pass emissions...but honestly, they barely run! My mother's Savage was like that...the shop retuned it, and WOW, what a difference! No sputtering, no stalling, no more hot misfires.

The Honda Helix also came with 62mph tires.

I did ~30 miles on the highway yesterday...lost track of time back-roading & wanted to get home to watch the ball game. (In hindsight: they lost-again-and I should have kept riding instead.) The Burgy has no trouble running 70-75MPH. Top end is ~92, limited by RPM's, not power.

I hear ya. I'm going to replace my helmet with a dayglo variety. Maybe sew a brilliant safety orange vest to my riding jacket. Anything to add more visual stimulation for weary or inattentive drivers. That, and try some different positioning when I'm in precarious circumstances at a red light. You can get (I have) a hi-visibility jacket. Mine is a Teknic.

5w isn't thin. God only knows who wrote those specs and if they knew why they did it. I don't know that I have ever even seen 5w40 oil... Who knows what the engine number means as well could be anything... 5W-40 is synthetic diesel oil...very common.

Ask and ye shall receive. The 250cc, Cf Moto, CHINESE DESIGNED Jet Max. Sorry, not exactly original! Offhand...cover everything ahead of the seat...then look at it next to a pic of an AN400 Burgman!

I'm confused: Your brother has just been killed by a negligent driver and you're upset cause u had to spend your money on his funeral instead of getting a new scooter? Man, W T F is wrong with you?? I'd sell my scooter, goldwing, Fleetwood and my Avalon if need be, for a family member. Psycho is right. Not all brothers are close. When my idiot brother killed himself driving drunk...honestly, my reaction was mostly a complete lack of surprise.

Note: using ° angled stems can make checking the tire pressure MUCH easier, especially if you have dual front rotors.

I'm afraid I wouldn't be so equitable about it. Like rocky, I'd probably have smacked his car backhanding with the knuckles of my glove. Just like I cross the parking lot to my car with my keys out and ready, 'cause there's some doink-heads that whip through and don't give a pedestrian much clearance. I figure if the car's close enough I'm keying it, then it's too close and very likely could've hit me. Then again, I *AM* a 'Kat you know. >'Kat Kat... or, in THIS case, "CAT"... LOL!I do agree, but after the keying, y'all better duck because (at least around here) you're likely to get a hail of lead for a quick reply... Keep them claws sharp!Leo As it should be. Singapore is too soft on vandals!

Maybe I will try painting "raised white letters" that tires had back in the 70s on my TMAX. They're still around, though usually on trucks now.
