Jerry - Yes I have adjusted the valve clearances.
Alley - Thanks for the thorough post! I will pop it off and take a look. Off-hand I cannot remember what position it was in.

Interesting thought.... I will see if warming the choke will help and fire it up on the first try.
Would a new choke fix that issue?

Hey everyone. My restoration is coming along well!
Works great and running like a champ so far. I have come across an interesting "gremlin" so far. When the bike is cold, I cannot use the elec start. It will turn over and function, but never fire up. I kick start it and it will usually go on the first kick... maybe 2nd.
After I kick it and let the bike run for at least 30-45 seconds and turn it off, the elec start will fire it up from then on until it sits for 30 mins+.
Any ideas to get me started?
TLDR - Bike fires on kickstart on cold startup but not elec start.

Hey everyone... Trying to restore a 50cc Jonway I picked .... I am pretty sure the oil is oooooold. When taking the oil drain off, the whole thing sheared clean. No threads came out and now I have just the drain cover portion that has the nut head.
Question time!!!!
Do I now need to replace the block? Is there a way to remove the threaded part out???
Ignore the poll.... It would not let me post without creating one......

Can you verify that my package shipped? FedEx shows that they rec'd in the information on Tuesday and it is supposed to be delivered today. However, the shipping information has not updated to show it was ever picked up to be delivered.
Customer Name - Jason Rowe

Does Scrappydog still offer free shipping on orders for Facebook likes? If so, how do I redeem the offer?

Hey everyone! I was going to replace all the side and rear plastics on my 2007 Jonway YY50QT-6. I know that this model has many clones and similarities to other scooters out there. I have the panels labeled 1 in the pictures below already ordered, as there didn't seem to every be a difference for them between models. The issue is the other panels labeled as 2. Scrappydogscooters has 2 different models available. I have not gotten a solid answer as to the difference between them from them yet. I was wondering what everyone here may be able to lend as far as knowledge on the subject. I believe that I have the front end of model #1 and the back end of model #2. I pointed out the only difference I could make out from the pictures with the magenta arrow. Here is a link to the products page at scrappydogscooters: www.scrappydogscooters.com/Sunny_style_parts.htmlModel 1: Model 2: Pictures of my scoot:

UPDATE: Tested the terminals.... got a peak of 8 volts. I am going to assume this is a draw due to the dead battery. New battery is on the way, and I will be able to test and figure out exactly what is going on..... I hope.... lol

Quick question!!!
I noticed on your site that you have 2 styles of rocker farirings for the "Sunny" style scoot. I need a set and am wondering what the differences or "tells" are to determine what ones I need. The pics are not very clear to determine the differences.

[replyingto=shalomrider]shalomrider[/replyingto]Thanks to everyone that has replied thus far! I can kickstart it and everything seems to work (except the horn). There are the apparent voltage drops (fuel gauge moving) as I turn stuff on (turn signal, brake light, high beams). I tested the battery (off the scooter) after riding around for a bit and the battery showed no voltage. I assume that the battery is shot, but I wanted to make sure that the regulator was putting out enough voltage to even charge it in the first place, due to those anomalies. Also.... any ideas on where to get plastics for the rear?
