Cracked exhaust= Exhaust leak which leads to hot exhaust valve. The valve gaps tends to close a little when they get hot..
Check both an adjust accordingly.
Also if you had good gas, compression, and spark it wouldn't have a choice but to combust.
Tight valves lead to compression loss. As of other things, but this is more than likely your problem.

IDK, I just know when I had the same problem putting in an A9 fixed it

What camshaft do you have? Its it the the "A9" then that's your problem.
7-8 Gram sliders should do you well
I did 7g but noticed a little over rev at wot so I got 8g. Havn't tested them yet though.

A week and a half of sitting will not effect your carb. These bikes are built for quantity not quality. I would first check ALL the vacuum lines and components for leaks. Make sure the air filter is in good condition, and the carb and manifold are secure. Next check and ensure your spark plug is in tight (Too tight and it will strip the hole!) and that the boot is on good. The spark plug wire twists onto both sides. If that does not your. Check your carb diaphram for cracks.

I have the orange coil and notice little to no difference, the wire that came with it the first time failed and has barely any wire in it. The boot sucked and was of cheap quality and started giving me problems so I went back to stock. Got the NGK boot and noticed a stronger spark.. Just my experience though

Timeline wise. It sounds like you developed an air-leak(Very Common) which is why your backfiring. You may have taken out the exhaust valve. How long were the trips during the 50miles it lasted after.

Could be as simple as the boot is loose on the spark plug , especially after laying it down. What wouldn't cause it to backfire then die.

If it randomly started backfireing and then died, sounds like the pickup coil is not telling the engine when to fire correctly, but idk.
First things first, take the plug out and put it back in the wire and crank it and visually look for a spark, may have to touch it to ground.

Looks like overheating was a factor. I worked on a dude's bike and found the same dents in the cylinder only it was top and bottom not sides.

All I have is a black wire going from battery to valve cover. Where does your green wire lead?

I've jumped started multiple bikes with a running car. the faster, stronger cranking helps start low compression bikes.
