Letting a motor rev really high especially going down hill with no load is really bad for motors. You will be rebuilding and or replacing motors that way not to mention what will happen if it blows and locks up at those speeds. Alleyoop I know, but its like its at constant load the whole time though. If I were to let off the throttle even a little bit down hill I would instantly notice it. Downhill speeds at close to flat speeds. Is that bad? I'm far from done tuning and testing the engine, it just accelerates fast and has a good top at the moment, and is reliable. I'm buying a new 150 to ride and upgrade in the next two months and I have enough spare parts to fix this one if anything happens. If it were too lock up I could handle it, just don't know about the cars behind me..

The scooter revs high, like really high. Maxing out going down hill, it was running so good I thought I was going to blow it. If I were to change the final gear ratio I don't think it would happen. The smoke was from the exhaust, When reved it produced more.
I don't ever count miles I normally just check it randomly or when I think i've been riding alot. positive it never goes over 100miles though.
If the rings are going, thats fine i'll just rebuild. I ride hard so its to be expected.

You just need to put a cap on the head, and cover up the open vacuum port and you should be good. No need for a different valve cover. Just makes it look normal.

So before going to work I inspected the cvt and found nothing wrong. Well the spring to the kick start broke but it still works.
I then checked the exhaust more thoroughly and noticed it was cracked at the mounting. (Its getting bad fast)
I have a plug designed to dissipate heat and its cold outside so its not overheating.
I'm not replacing this exhaust and i'm buying a pipe for the performance muffler I have in a month.
Can I just up jet to compensate? Haven't done a plug check to confirm a lean burn yet but i'm sure it is.
Also when I started the bike leaving work it was smoking like the rings were blown until it heated up.
Rings are more prone to blow at high rpm with a lean mixture right?
Oil was also black.

It could also be the packing around the core is pretty burnt up they do not last forever. Alleyoop Can you explain more please. I have no clue what your talking about.lol

I would just unplug the radio/alarm if possible when your not using it. Or get a separate battery for it.

It could all be in my head but I think the engine sounds louder. Not like an loose exhaust or anything. Just a little louder when riding.
If its not all in my head what could be the cause?
I've been thinking its the weather changes throwing the carb off
I ride it like its a getaway bike(After warm up of course)
No running problems just seems lightly louder all the way around. Not a specific section or part. No shaking or vibrating.

So I take it a straight jumper cable hook up left over the days I don't use the scooter wont due much help. Being that I keep the scooter outside the simplest thing for me is to post up that deep cycle battery next to it, rather than running extensions back to nearest home outlet which I think a battery tender would need if am correct. jjoshua you mentioned "Connecting an adapter to the car battery would work though" What kind of adapter do you mean? Options: 1. Splice the Battery Tender Adapter's AC cord and connect it directly to car battery. (Unsure of outcome) 2. Perhaps invest in an inverter 500-750w so I can plug in the Battery Tender and run from battery. 3. Slap a solar panel on the scooter, lol.. Any other ideas? The amps in a car battery is wayyy more than a little scooter battery. Amps measures current. You know how some batteries have normal and quick chargers? Well the quick chargers have more amps. It charges faster but is bad for the batteries lifespan. A car battery would probably overcharge in in less than 30 mins and kill it. 1.Won't work. You could build a 12v solar panel. I would make it stationary and park the bike next to it vs, on the bike. Sounds like something is slowly killing your battery (Alarm, other accessories) Or your battery is on its way out. I would put my money on it gong out. Does your kick start work? I would jump the battery and let the battery charge as you ride. If it doesn't your battery is most likely dead or the bike is not charging properly.

Connecting directly to the battery? Don't think so. Get a voltmeter and test the two batteries and you'll see the difference. Connecting an adapter to the car battery would work though.

Your valves are adjusted too tight. Try .0035 Intake .004 Exhaust

Attempt to take off your throttle cable and try to spray wd-40 in it. Might even get unstuck before you take it off if your lucky but thats not always the case.

... But for the crud shown on your bike it would have to have been like that for awhile. Last sparkplug purchase was about a month ago: Probably 300-400 miles on it. Damn that worries me. I'll for SURE check plugs from now on. They say hind-sight is 20/20. Guess that makes me a jack-arse. Edit: I see what you're sayin' (I think). Not a couple hundred, but a few thousand miles? Ya, but at the same time i'm not a pro, it could happen in a couple hundred. Or it could even be a different cause. But in my experience it sounds like gas isn't fully being burned.
