I've adjusted my valves a few times and I'm just wondering you guy's opinions on whether I should have some valve tick or none at all. I just adjusted my intake to .002" and my exhaust to .0025" It ticks, but not loud. More like a Honda civic tick. I haven't taken it for a ride yet no have I buttoned it up pending the results of this question.

Your valves are adjusted too tight. Try .0035 Intake .004 Exhaust

The scooter guide is oddly inaccurate about that. mine says that too.

Just F.Y.I if the valves TICKY TICKY TICKY they are good( the old saying a little loose valve is a happy valve). If they CLATTER CLATTER CLATTER they are TO loose. If they DO not make a sound then they are TIGHT(but if the motor runs good and you do not get any symptons) like not wanting to idle after hot etc or hard starting you can leave them until stuff starts or adjust them little looser. mine does that as well.
.004 clattering worse .003 clatter .002 is comfy .0015 is too tight
My manual states .0019 in-out
I'm usually using a .002-.0022ish in .0022-.0025
Anything more is for upgrades I would imagine.

The way I do it isn't right... I usually adjust the intake with the feeler gauges then do the exhaust by feel, using the intake as a guide.... I'm usually right on, if I go back and check with the feeler gauges. But then I've been adjusting valves on air cooled engines for years. Starting with VW's 25 years ago. Same style adjusters Incidentally.
If you do them a lot, you can "calibrate" your fingers. I don't recommend it for the novice tho.
