Vacuum will feel stronger on the fatter nipple. Vacuum comes in pulses in a thumper, maybe there is a little re-verb poof that gets backed up while the intake valve is closed, something you only feel on the small one since it is sucking less to begin.

Remove the top plate from your carb, remove the spring, and pull the slide/diaphragm out by the middle with your finger. There may be a plate with a screw holding the needle down in the slide, or just a plastic piece that is held down by the spring. Note any washers or o-ring you may or may not find, so you put them back right. If it is adjustable, there will be a clip you can pull out at the top of the needle and several notches you use to make the adjustment.

Unscrew the idle screw all the way and take the throttle cable nuts all the way loose. Turn the back nut against the cable bracket until you just get the slack out. Then slowly turn it more until you see that you can pull the throttle open right when you twist the grip. Make sure you don't go too far and wind up holding the throttle open with the cable adjustment - it's fine and advisable to leave a tiny hair of slack in it anyway. Then start it up and set your idle speed with the idle screw, and adjust the cable again to take out the bit of slack you get from adjusting the idle screw. Now screw the front nut up to the cable bracket and snug both nut together with two wrenches or pliers to lock it down.
If you had a 1/4 turn of 'nothing' before, you will definitely have 1/4 turn more giddy up now.

You could put a 130/70/12 on the rear, it would be fine.
My 150-on-250 frame has a 120/70/12 rear and it still looks pretty beefy. It that the original size for your front?? I'd check your scooter info plate for OE tire size, most big boy scooters have a taller, skinnier front tire.
I put Avon Viper Stryke's on my 150 and on the front of the Reflex. Also lots of Reflex guys run them, an I haven't heard anything bad about them. I don't have much to compare them too, but they are worlds better than the knobby dual-sport tires that came on my 150!!

Did you encounter any wind while you were on the freeway?? I've had my reflex up to 65ish and I get tossed around by the wind a bit... the bit of time I spent in a big-rig's tail wind was NOT fun!! lol...
I wonder how my wheelbase compares to yours...

what did you notice different about the cvt with those performance parts and if you dont mind me asking how heavy are you? The CVT kit only improves acceleration and hill climbing. I didn't notice any change in top speed but the larger variator must make up for any top speed loss from the belt gearing changes of the kit. My 150cc went from 0-30 just as quick as my stock 250cc Reflex does, currently. You could get almost the same results by changing everything but the variator itself, but by the time you buy the other pieces you've already paid for the whole kit, and having any quality Taiwanese part is better than stock stuff. I weigh about 230lbs and live in the 'hill city', and this kit definitely made a huge difference. By the time I got the aftermarket exhaust and up-jet done, it was pretty ferocious. I wish it still ran so I could see how it compared to the Reflex at speed...

I also have two of these.... One still 'brand' new - $40 plus 10 ship, and one 'installed' (the mounting tab is bent and it's dinged a little)and run for less than one hour - $20 plus 10. The tube for this one got used and will be dirty. My 150 did not like this filter when I tried to run it, but this was before I even knew how to adjust the needle. I wound up just using the tube with a pod filter on it. One of them, I forget which, the filter on the inside of the can is stamped K&N. possibly K&M.... they came from China. The rubber pipe coupler on the end is not included. I do not know what scooters these will fit! Probably just about any 50 or 150. They are a "some modification required to install" deal. Not sure if the filter inside will support a 250 or bigger...

i could use multiple things. does it have the electric start housing on the handlebars? if so can you post a pic? what comes in the cvt kit im sure mine would be very similar. This has the start button in the plastic clam-shell that houses the instrument cluster. The CVT kit will have everything one off the shelf will and more, but all with about 4,000 miles on it, which isn't bad for Taiwanese parts. It has a complete NCY used-to-be Teflon coated variator, a standard 'blue' NCY performance clutch and clutch bell, ncy performance torque sheave, 1K torque(contra) spring, and the unused torque spring ball bearing cup. I used a Malossi torsion controller in its place, which I will include if its still in good shape. This kit should fit ANY 150cc GY6, long or short case. I also have a red 2k torque spring and various new and used rollers/sliders - I will include any used roller with the kit, new roller sets $5, new slider sets $10. The sliders are generic, but I got a look at two sets with a couple thousand miles on them, and they had very little wear. I'm sure the belt is still usable, its the long-long case size, $5.

Do You Have an aftermarket exhaust? Yes! If you have one of these style scooters with a 150cc, it should bolt right on. Both tabs had to be cut off the head pipe like most do, but I will send the bracketry you see in the pic if your scooter is like this one. I used a good NCY head pipe gasket too, it may even be re-usable. The pipe is blue from bending it and grungy from use, but the muffler itself is fairly new and still as nice as in this pic. It has a silencer in it so it has some back-pressure and is not too loud. I would like $50 plus $15 shipping - and other smaller items you might want will be no additional shipping. Everything but the headlight bulbs is still there.

My Titan is a 150cc. If you are on the edge about a 250, I'd go ahead and get something bigger... I can't see the Reflex having that much more power than a healthy clone to make a big difference.
The Reflex has a lot of power left at 55-65mph, but I don't know if it would be there at 65+ going into a decent highway grade. I have not had a chance to take mine on the Blue Ridge Parkway yet, but the limit is 45mph there so I think it would do fine. I don't take it on any big highway, it is still a bit light for 65mph open lanes and tractor trailer wind gusts!

If it feels flimsy, you don't want it. I found some yellow stuff at a tractor supply store that is thick and firmer than vacuum line. I'd look for stuff printed with at least its size and brand, if not also composition and intended use.

Maybe I just need to get one of the grip excersize tools so I can grip the screwdriver better? lol... strong grip does help. I've developed robot-like hand and wrist strength being a mechanic so I guess my experiences are not typical ;D My right hand and arm are definitely meatier than the left. And no, not from wankin' it... I do that with the left.
