How do you figure? Seems unusual for something with a sealed/nonadjustable carb and aftermarket pipe to be running rich.

I can't see a Chinese head and a Chinese pipe making their own seal... the metal O-ring gaskets suck, I use the good metal/fiber gasket and have even re-used it a few times. A head flange exhaust leak can cause backfires and other unpleasantries. When my flange kept coming loose, I knew it was time to snug it up when it started poopling down hills... lol

I didn't install AC/DC conversion doodadads for any of my LEDs... I have a few bulb replacements and a lot of surface mount marker lights, all with 4,000 miles on them so far. They only LED's I've ever had burn out on me were crap from China, and you always seem to get a few bad ones with those. Thats why I buy in bulk! I'm excited LED headlights are becoming a reality now... I've been an LED junkie for about 13 years. As soon as a DOT approved LED headlight replacement comes out, I'll be all about it!

I like night riding... I actually feel more visible at night with all the LED's, they really stand out. My headlights suck too, and the adjuster is stripped out, but anywhere I'd be going has plenty of streetlights.

That sucks... I'd go ahead and get a replacement carb that you can make adjustments and play with jet sizes too... especially since you have that shiny pipe on there! (that i didn't notice before...) I bet if you get it more fuel it will run better with that cap off.

Installing performance exhaust 2m. Now am I going to have to re-jet carb? Got a bit of backfiring going on since the exhaust install but I'm lovin it. yes, and it will probably get even faster too. backfiring isn't good.

Check the crappy PAIR valve system. Or you could just rip it out and fabricate a block off plate for the exhaust port (like I did). Mine backfired like the dickens and spit blue flames out of the muffler (on hard deccel) until I made a block-off plate for this. Dom, don't be afraid to fiddle with the A/F screw or try adjusting the main jet needle. Both are very easy to do and may put a big smile on your face after. One notch on the needle is definitely enough to change how it runs. I keep my needle one notch higher than where it seems to run the best (I've been warned about "lean & mean" from several sources, lol)

Did it used to have power past 80% ? Hot air holds less oxygen, so you may not be getting enough to burn all the fuel at WOT since its gotten hotter outside. I find myself dropping the main jet needle one notch in the summer, raising it one in the winter. Might be worth a shot... Or, if your stock airbox has a inlet snorkel cap, try pulling that out and see if it changes. Or you can always try an aftermarket air filter.

My 150cc certainly woke right up with aftermarket exhaust and a bigger jet. I'm not sure what diameter the head pipe is, but it was definitely much larger than the stock one you can barely get your pinky finger in! The first muffler fell apart big time in 1,000 miles, but the 2nd one is still good as new after 1,000 miles.

So it looks like THIS is the place to be... I had no idea ITR had grown so much! The other forum is like a ghost town... Anyway, I just wanted to say hi before i make another look-what-I-can-do thread and copy some tech posts over here. Not a whole lot is new, the second $99 ebay exhaust I installed is actually holding up great. The blue one literally and totally fell apart in 1,000 miles... this one has at least 1,000 on it and is still good as new. Not even any blow-by around the riveted end cap, the old one leaked there right out of the box. Otherwise I've only had to address a few typical Chinese failures, nothing out of the ordinary
