I replaced mine with clear fuel lines per many recommendations but it looks flimsy. The black braided lines look much better. Do these really last and not break down?

i know the clear tygon line is good ,but from what the place i bought it from told me is that the ethanol breaks the line down not the gasoline, don't know if this is true

The yellow line from scrappy, is nice and thick. It lasts a long time too, at least for me it did/does.

If it feels flimsy, you don't want it. I found some yellow stuff at a tractor supply store that is thick and firmer than vacuum line. I'd look for stuff printed with at least its size and brand, if not also composition and intended use.

I've had transparent fuel lines before, and replaced them with thick black ones.
I don't know what sunrays or uv rays do to gasoline, nor to the fuel lines, so I believe it's better to use the black ones, since they're more made for that kind of stuff.

I tried clear fuel lines purchased from auto parts store in the small engine / lawn mower area. It was handy to be able to see that fuel is flowing if trying to solve a problem, etc.
However, after a few weeks, the fuel lines softened up and started leaking at the connectors. I tried tightening the zip ties but couldn't get them tight enough. I replaced with regular black lines and no problems.

I use Tygon myself. (and I find clear fuel lines work much better than blocked ones!  ) |

I can confirm it's true. I had the blue ones, and honestly loved being able to see the fuel flow, but the Ethanol did destroy the lines..

I went to my local Autozone and got fuel lines specifically designed to handle Ethanol.. They are black and one can't see thur them.. but they aren't falling apart like the blue ones did.
