Awesome! This gives me some ideas for the junker helix I got...
What kind of headlight is that?

If I knew it would only take 3-400 bucks to fix, I would! I'm concerned it needs engine parts...
I envision myself getting it running just to find the stator isn't charging... I'd have to fix that, then replace the front caliper so I can ride it. Then I might find it has oil/coolant leaks, and who knows what else...!
Maybe I should focus on fixing the Reflex first, lol...

Well, looks like this one is just parts. I started to fiddle with it this past weekend, and the head bolts are missing!! I'm assuming if they tried to take it apart, it must have something seriously wrong. I know there are tons of good aftermarket engine parts for these, but I don't want to go dumping money into it to get it running, just to find out other things are wrong. The front brake is dragging bad... and almost all the body fasteners are missing. Who need Helix parts? ?

First I hit a deer with the Reflex and ride out of it, then I drag this home for $150!!! I'm pretty sure nothing on it is any good to the Reflex, but I would have jumped on this regardless. Funny thing is, if I had not hit the deer, I wouldn't have been looking for Reflex parts on Craigslist at lunch today and seen this pop up before it was gone! Until now, the Reflex has NOT satisfied my urge to tinker. I got a whole heap of solution for that now

It's not as bad as it looks! I did not launch the deer that far... some moron drove over it and dragged it while I was picking up pieces! So, anyone got Reflex parts?? or know how well the clone pieces fit?? I must have hit that sucker right between the legs... seems like the huge front end absorbed a lot of the impact. the two bars that stick out to hold up the front fascia are both bent in and back almost exactly the same... I'm sure that took a lot of the stress too. It rode home strait... where do I need to look for evidence of stress??

The deer is dead. I didn't go down, and rode away. Luckily I had been taking it easy due to salt/sand leftovers in the road. Good thing too, because it was a sweet uphill banked turn I usually like to play on that this little fella popped out of...

I quickly found that you can find a fairly new, low mileage, great looking get-on-and-ride condition large displacement scooter for much less any sport touring or dual-sport motorcycle meeting the same requirements. And yeah... storage! I fit a full size car battery in my cargo bucket (to carry, not installed there, lol), with room for much much more.

The clutch is not the torque sheave! the clutch has nothing to do with the contra spring! the clutch controls what rpm your back wheel starts moving at take off ONLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
You are all talking about the TORQUE SHEAVE which has NOTHING to do with the clutch!!!
The CLUTCH controls the RPM engagement of your rear wheel, THAT IS ALL!!! The clutch does not open and close! The torque sheave and contra spring controls the opening/closing of the rear pulley!
You will never be able to fine tune a CVT if you don't even know what parts you are talking about.

A performance clutch is supposed to feel like it grabs hard... that's the point.
I was very pleased with the NCY clutch/bells I put on my 50cc and 150cc GY6's - and they don't break the bank.
If you want to do wheelies, I hear the DR Pulley HIT clutch is the way to go.

If part of your adventure is getting stuck who knows where for who knows how long, and having who knows what happen to you, go for it.
How many miles do you have on your scooter? Have you put 3,000 on it yourself yet? How many issues did you have with it in those 3,000 miles? Both my Chinese scoots averaged one can't-ride-it failure per 1,000 miles, all after a thorough PDI. Some of those could have been cured if I had kept the simple, cheap parts that were the problems in the scooter, but carrying one of every replacement part with you is going to eat up your cargo room...

Why the change over? Any electrical load you remove will be consumed by the voltage regulator. I noticed less headlight-dim-while-stopped-with-break-applied after swapping out only 6 194-type bulbs for LED (on my 150cc)

Oh yeah, the 'back way' home for me is through a neighborhood jam packed full of huge oak trees. It's amazing how different one layer of leaves on the road is from two or more layers!!! And just wait till they get a little wet...
