I ask because a friend installs his backward to show out and "burn rubber". Cool looking bike!

Off topic; but back-tire is installed back-ward. Is this for burn-outs? LOL

Sorry to hear your scoot was stolen: I have had three (3) stolen and never heard a word about them. I now use heavy chains and surveillance cameras when home: Chain and alarm when away (still trying to keep a line of sight if possible). Too easy to steal....

Circlips were still seated when disassembled; although the off-sets (where one will grip them to install) were missing (shown in image 2). Wrist-pin was in place and one circlip had to be forcefully removed before wrist-pin could be extracted: Will they re-seat themselves?
Put an adjustable carb on when BBK was installed and tuned to rich: Sparkplug was showing a med-dark color when checked after 50 miles. Did NOT up-jet. Also notice that the base-gasket (cylinder) had been pushed outward; as if oil pressure was excessive *or something*.... Thanks for all the input, guys. He is ordering another top-end, exhaust gasket and high performance exhaust today. What jet size do you guys think is necessary?

Upgraded a friends ped to 80cc and dude put 3,000 miles since. Calls me up saying the ped is making a helluva rattling noise and smoking. Told him to bring it by as it sounded like rings were shot and possible engine slap. Wasn't prepared for what I found when opening her up.... What would cause this damage? I made sure to align rings properly and that the clips holding the wrist pin in were seated correctly. Both clips were still snuggly in the grooves yet as one can tell, the offsets were broken off. Any insight as to what may have caused all this? Thanks, Mopojo

Looks like it's time for a new engine. Lot's of rattlin' goin's on. Anyone know a decent place to purchase a 1P39QMB shortcase; preferably with just piston-rod attached (no other top-end)? I know it has to happen sooner than later.... Thanks

I'm @ around 19,000. Just changed the variator and rollers > Koso < to quiet down all that da** rattling. haha Put a Gates belt on it as well. I have been riding on some kinda knock-off Kelvar (no sh**; that's what it says on the belt) for about 3,000 and it has started unraveling. Get all of my tech tips 'round here and hands on. Just changing parts as needed. Grateful to all. Ridin' out

In my experience; even a high-end product without mantainence is a piece of crap. I have seen many purchase an exspensive item and cannot afford the upkeep. It ends up in the garbage heap just the same.

I have a bit over 10,000 miles on mine. Seems the more I read around; the better it runs. Kinda scary.... I seriously appreciate the knowledge-base kicked around up in here. Thanks

Check your tire pressures! It is a little late to be posting to this, but the tire pressure in rear was very low and before selling the bike I put some gas in and filled with air. Ran pretty good and had second thoughts of selling....lol
