The belt broke last summer and one of the steel wires got in back and wrapped around the oil seal and pushed it in the engine. I got the correct seal from two different places to make sure the size was correct.. It seems the seal goes in place but with in very short time after starting the seal just pops out and oil starts leaking. It is the correct seal. My thought is the wire spinning around in the seat wore the space open a bit more. I put non hardening gasket sealer around but it didn't help. I thought about epoxying a thin wire across the seat above and below the shaft. Any other ideas. There was no issues till the belt broke and the wire went back there. Another thought, there is a gap between the pressed on gear and the seal. What if I put another seal facing it with the two front sides together holding it in place. Thanks for any thoughts or ideas. I sold a GY6 performance exhaust to a guy in FL that has a 150 cc Tao Tao. It has an unusual mount. Anyone install a GY6 performance muffler with the stock bands? Thanks and God bless..

I replaced the exhaust system on my wife's Strada RX-200 with a Gen 2 SS exhaust system. It sounded great BUT she says she don't like the noise. I replace it with stock items which seem chintzy compared to the SS one. I noticed that the exhaust pipe was really sooty. I noticed the exhaust manifold bolts weren't the tightest. Is the soot coming from a possible air leak or from the carb. Also the front brake line is twisted out, can I loosen the bolt up a bit at the crush washer to swing it back in place. Will it re-tighten without washer replacement. Thanks and God bless. BTW I have the 2nd Gen SS Round exhaust system ebay link in the tell/sell. itistheride.boards.net/thread/5739/gy6-stainless-steel-exhaust-system

We'll the verdict is in after less than 3 weeks. She don't like the "loud" and would rather have a quiet muffler. I liked the sound but hey I'm a performance type of guy. Here is the muffler system : www.ebay.com/itm/140943878128?ssPageName=STRKThe header pipe turned "yellowish" after a bit but everything is in great condition. Comes with everything in the listing. Asking $100 and actual shipping cost to your zip. Send a message if interested. I use pay-pal.

Got the 2nd Gen muffler/pipe on. Looks and sounds pretty good. The fitment was pretty good. Got the red RTV on and slid the pipe in, got all the bolts started and snugged everything tight. It just pulled the header pipe into place. I snugger the manifold bolts and stopped shot of twisting them. I could feel the exhaust shooting back 6-7 feet. Has a low throaty sound. The exhaust seems a bit sooty as I could see it. I held a paper up and you could see a bit of black. Could this be from the pipe that was loose or is it running rich ? What should be my next step, jet or better air filter? It's starts easy and revs up smooth. Thanks for any help. GBY

On another thread I brought up purchasing this muffler: www.ebay.com/itm/140943878128?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 . I have unpacked it and dry fitted it on but I was surprised I can see straight through it. I never noticed it in other stock mufflers that I installed in the past. Is this going to be a loud glass pack like mufflers I used as a teen on cars many years ago? I know my wife won't like that. I don't think I can still return it if I use it. Also I found the manifold bolts loose and noticed a small area of black soot where it must have been leaking. I also noticed it was black and sooty when I removed the header pipe from the muffler. Does this mean it's running rich ? Thanks for any help. GBY

A few different what ? Exhaust systems. Do you need jets or just a new air filter. How do you know if it "leans out ? Thanks

Thanks for the comment. Will I be able to run this without any other mods? I guess I can put it up for sale here if it is too loud. Thanks and God bless.

Just turned 6k on my wife's scoot. She says the other day something is not right. So I listen and it sounds like something let loose inside the muffler. I'd like to take this time to add a little better performance muffler. I had to replace the header pipe once and those pipes are in sad shape compared to something that is ground flush and polished. Can anyone suggest an exhaust system that gives better performance yet is not too much louder than stock. Thanks for any help. God bless.
