ok so i just checked out the valve everything looks fine as far as i can tell no light coming through when its closed and when i open it i dont see any debris. unfortunately my base gasket got ripped taking it off so i still have to wait awhile before i can put her back together.
but just so im clear about this because i cant really find any videos or readings about this, the gaskets go. no gasket on the valve cover (except the vent thing) the metal head gasket on the base of the valve head top of cylinder and base gasket between the bottum of the cylinder and the top of the engine case
if im wrong with this could that have been a reason for the oil getting into the combustion chamber?

I agree, but is the mark on the piston really a dent or scuff? Possible the intake valvee hit it? when you put the piston in, did you make sure the I was on top?I dont think It's possible for the intake valve to hit the piston, as the piston is on the way down when it opens.(assuming timing is correct.) Maybe a tiny peice of junk found its way to the valve seat? IMO, clean it up and try again. yes i made sure timing was correct when i assembled it. no its a dent if i run my finger over it i can feel the dent.

If you soft seized there would be scuffs and scratches on your piston and cylinder. I never saw a good look at the cylinder but that piston looks fine. There is a lot of carbon in you combustion area. A you running really rich?? Do the valves properly seat? I would check that and put it back together and run that puppy... ya i tried earlier to get pics of the cylinder but none would turn out well enough to actually inspect them. no all that carbon is from when i was messing with my f/a making it run really rich. i dont know how to check to see if the valves seated properly. and thanks jersey.

the video says it all.
if you guys need any better pics of a specific area please let me know soon, as i go to work in about 2 hours and will not be able to post any pics until later tonight.
could it just have been that my rings rings spun out of alignment and i was getting oil shot into the combustion chamber?
I will realign my rings before i put it back in dont worry about that btw.

ya ive got a local shop ill call them up and see if i cant get the gaskets and rings from them. it just really sucks bc now i have to wait 2 more weeks before i can get these bc i used all my money from the last paycheck. and i would like to verify that something is actually wrong before i go taken her apart again. are there any steps i can go through to actually verify that it is the rings/head gasket that needs to be replaced?

could i have soft seized the engine from running lean and made the oil ring or one of the other rings go bad?
im probably gonna have to take her all apart again and check the jug and piston and the rings?
and as far as the something bent part, its really not even noticable it was just making a funny sounds once i got past about 20 on my way back home no wierd vibrations or anything. and the bracket from center will only flex about 1mm to the left and right while the wheel is spinning at low rpms.

just dont use synthetic for the break in use conventional oil, im currently using sae 15w30 for my break in i chose a lighter one just so i know the engine isnt being starved for oil

any kind of gas with ethanol in it will gell up after awhile of sitting (cant really give you a time frame bc it depends on what temp your scooter is being stored at) but you can make sure to drain the carb if its going to be sitting for a while. there is a drain screw on the bottum of the bowl that will unscrew and allow the extra gas to drain out, that should stop it fromhappening if your gonna let it sit for awhile.

oh and i dont have an engine ground. ive seen a lot of pic of them tho looks like i could make one really easy. i just attack a wire to an engine bolt (seen them all on the valve cover) then to a bolt on the frame?

i started my bbk with my kickstart. do you have the carb hooked up properly with all the vacuum lines? are your valves adjusted properly a lot of people say .003-.004mm, was your ignition on? is your battery hooked up? is your engine grounded? these are some of the problems i ran into when starting my bbk build. gl
