Cool, I'm listening to Alkaline Trio - Trouble Breathing. there Good. My scoot is not my only transportation. But remember when my Harley was so I do understand. Dave PS Just because we all get older doesn't mean we all get Wise... Alkaline Trio is one of my most favorite bands. I saw them live at Riot Fest last year and they put on an amaaazing show. Here's some video: Best part is they're from my hometown; McHenry

My scooter only has 2,350 and I've only driven it 1k of those miles

Before you go too far, and dig yourself a huge hole, slow down and think hard. It sounds to me like you are rebuilding your scooter from a "parts bike" maybe you should consider getting a new scooter. Ride that one and save money. Sometimes you can actually throw more money into something than it would cost you to get a brand new one. I'm not going all out, I think there's just three things total in my cart... Brakes, air filter, and mirrors. The things I WANT are... New variator, new clutch, new clutch bell, new torque spring, new rims, expensive mirrors, new dash, new helmet, new gloves, new visor, new motorcycle boots, a motorcycle jacket, new carburetor, new performance head, new fancy kick stand, new cooling fan, new performance stator, and the list goes on. But I've decided that the parts I NEED are calipers, mirrors, and a new air filter. Plus the jet is only like $4. I came here to ask you guys' opinions as to what parts I should be getting and based on my discretion I would add them to that list of "WANT" or "NEED". Like everybody, I want way more than what I have the capacity to ever obtain. But right now I got a bit of spending money which I'm strategically allocating from future predetermined resources through the convenience of a credit card with 0APR. So what do you think? Are those brake calipers high enough in quality that I won't chance dying every time I leave the house?

I guess I have no good reason to up the battery since my crappy one still starts my scooter... I just tested it a few times in a row. I'll take that off the list and save $45. :/

You want to know what you should do....cut it up and never get another credit card your going down a long hard road get off of that road now!!!! I don't know about all that, what I do know is that I get 0 APR for 14 months and my brake calipers are totally fried. Now, I can afford this stuff, but not until my next paycheck so I'd rather get it ASAP and then pay off the credit card. That's my plan. I don't like being in debt, but I also don't like screeching brakes at 40mph straight into an obstacle, also dying. I don't like dying. That's why I want my bike to perform as well as possible, while at the same time I want it to not be a safety hazard. Right now I can't see behind me without turning my head all the way around, and I can't stop unless I plan ahead that I'm going to stop. My filter is broken and is held together with tape right now. My mirror is busted. And my brake caliper is fried. Also, I might be getting too much air so I might as well get a jet. I don't even watch TV, my only hobbies are computers, music, glassblowing, and scootering. And I depend on that scooter for life, so I'm investing all I have into making it work as best as possible. ;D ~This addiction. Can't seem to live without you. This addiction, No going clean. This addiction, Go through withdrawal without you. Sick with this addiction in me.~

Yay. I finally rose my credit score enough to qualify for a REAL credit card! Not just store credit at Newegg.com or Amazon.com. First things first; I need some scooter parts! So I'm placing another order, a lot sooner than I expected to after the last splurge. I keep hearing horrible things about scrappydogscooters, but the prices and good reviews outweigh all the bad things I'm hearing; like people getting the wrong part vs getting the right part and excellent quality with fast shipping and low prices. So, right now my front brake caliper is busted up from grinding against the metal behind the brake pad so I plan on getting some new calipers; scrappy sells them cheap for $30: HB/B08 dual pot brake caliper pick your side: front brake Next; when installing my bbk I noticed that my air filter has been busted this whole time. There was a huge crack where the rubber meets the carburetor and the thing was just falling apart. On top of that my old spark plug was completely ghost white. I never want this to happen again, so I'm getting the following: 38mm air filter choose your kit: 38AF w/ # jet And finally... My mirrors are crap; one of them is broken and neither one of them properly views behind me. They're cheap pieces of junk. My calipers say 7.6mm so I assume they're 8mm. Which mirrors would you recommend? Right now the generics are in my cart: 8mm mirror set generic black pick your thread: regular Thanks for reading!

[replyingto=z0m8i3]Z0M8I3[/replyingto]Wow, the most crucial part of the whole "bbk" concept. What's a Big Bore, without the Big Bore?! Good luck in getting this straightened out. Looks just like the kit I ordered, save for the variator.

Sometimes they never update the system until it arrives. Depends on how much tracking was paid for. Don't worry and go check your mail... My BBK didn't even say it left Santa Clarita California until the day before it arrived. And then it didn't say it got to McHenry until like 12p.m. the day it did arrive. Then it didn't say out for deliver until like 2p.m. (when my mail normally comes), then I didn't get it 'til 4p.m. My other order never even updated; it just said "your package has left the seller carrier and is in transit to your location". USPS! Where "Uh, ooosps" is their slogan!

Absolutely. I was scared to death I'd have to do all that work all over again, maybe on a new bike even! But now I'm pretty sure I got all the gaskets that need to go in and all is well I installed the one that came with my bbk kit. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AYRZJPU/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I plan on upgrading to a performance head some time down the line, but for now I wanted to see how it performs and see if it's up to par with the speed limits around here.

I got my Honda Zook late last year, some time in the fall. (First scooter I ever saw in person)
Then I got my Great Leap in January of this year. (Second scooter I ever saw in person (unless you count the DiBlasi, which I don't.) It's my first "real" scooter and I traded a Nabi2 tablet and an HP Touchsmart laptop for it.
