Do I need an additional gasket apart from the ring I used? I thought that the ring gasket alone was sufficient... My exhaust is leaking?! Is that what Alley is hearing? I noticed a lot of popping sound on the camera, but in person I didn't seem to make much of that noise except when I initially give it gas there's some slight popping. So my jet is fine as it is? I ordered a UNI filter so I guess we'll know for sure what's up when I install that and we don't have this variable of a broken filter held together with tape... Every motor is different and what works for one may not work for another. One will tell you this another will tell you that. But if you listen to the sounds it makes it will tell you what the motor needs. Here are a few tricks of the trade this will help you get it right: 1. Popping while accelerating is a RICH condition. 2. Popping while de-celerating is a LEAN condition. 3. Burp Sounds accelerating is a LEAN condition 4. Backfires are a Lean condition. Possible causes for above and fixes: 1. Here the problem is it is running OVERLEY rich and the main jet is to big. 2. Here couple things: a. You can richen up the Fuel Ratio Mixture b. Idling to low Bring up the idle a little 3. You can richen up the Fuel Ratio Mixture 4. Usually caused by it Leaking where the Pipe Connects to the motor. Bad air leaks cause the backfiring many think it is because it is to RICH but it is the OPPOSITE sucking in air causing very Lean condition and this can damage your exhaust valve. Alleyoop Thanks, Alley. I'll try an jet and try to tighten my nuts. Here I thought I needed to go to ...

That makes sense. I have heard that also, to call ahead. Now I've decided to give scrappy a chance, but I hate calling people and they're the only ones that stock my brake calipers for cheaper than $35 so I'm just gonna order and hope for the best, I don't have much choice if I want the most affordable brakes that are also reliable.
I don't shop ebay very often and when I have it has often ended in disappointment. I prefer to shop Amazon and Newegg.com. With most of my scooter parts being ordered from Mainely Scooters - through Amazon. So far my only disappointment with them is that I accidentally ordered GY6 variator V slides and asked to cancel the order but they didn't respond, so now I have some useless V slides brand new just sitting here...
Aside from the bad reviews, mixed up parts, and late orders, what you're saying is all I hear about them. Nobody can deny the quality it seems. I want reliable brakes, so I'd normally order from Absolutely Scooters an hour away from me, but they cost $8 more, so I've decided to go with Scrappy's because it seems that if anything they are reliable, with excellent customer service.

Congrats on 1k posts, Domindart! You should definitely be rewarded with something but what? Maybe at least a status that says "Scooter Graduate" to go along with this school theme they have going on. But other than the Free Stuff Thread I'm sorry that this community has nothing to give back to you If you like the show fooly cooly and the band the pillows then I can send you my extra "P!" sticker, but that's all I got to offer, friend.

[replyingto=triker]triker[/replyingto]Well, I really appreciate the information in any case. I still need to make a gasket for my diblasi exhaust so I will definitely be looking into this 10x10 sheet of material. Where would I find it? At any auto place?

[replyingto=alleyoop]alleyoop[/replyingto] Thanks, Domindart! It totally sounds awesome now You think so? That's strange because my plug was whitish when I plug chopped earlier, but that was because my cracked air filter fell off again. Once I get my air filter fixed would you recommend an jet then? I had planned on upping to , but now I'm not so sure.

Can't wait! That used to by my straight downhill, wind at my back, head tucked top speed. Hopefully that and even better then with the gears and an a9 cam. I don't have the a9 cam or taller gears yet, AND I'm overweight at 267lbs. You should have no problem hitting these speeds once we find your problem.

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]It was a real PIA cleaning up the garage and getting rid of so much stuff so I could finally fit my scooter, but it was worth it! That's what craigslist is for, anyway. I keep my zook in the shed unlocked, and that's probably not such a good idea though there's not enough room in the garage for it. The DiBlasi is in the garage because it folds up.

[replyingto=hank]hank[/replyingto]Oh, okay, that makes sense now. Thanks for clearing my confusion. You should know that your story has changed the way I treat my scooter. I keep it in the garage all the time now and I never forget my keys in it anymore. I really wish your scooter wasn't stolen, but it was a valuable lesson for all of us on the board. I don't know what I'd do if my scooter were ever stolen...

My stock TaoTao ATM50 does 40MPH, but when fueling with BP Premium fuel (over here in USA), it goes a lot faster. When the engine is heated up, and the roads are level, it goes upto 48MPH, 53 with some wind in the back. If you're living in a hilly area, the BBK is going to give you better climbing ability. It does very little on top speed, unless you also change the gearing. Are you sure about the top speed not being affected by a BBK. I put bbk's into 2 different scooters that I already de-restricted. A 47mm bbk added about 10 more mph with the increased torque and hp. Former top speeds of mine are in the post above, roughly 37mph. My current top speed ON FLAT LAND is 44.93mph GPS verified

Hi 100-125 psi is good, 125-150 psi is very good, and 150+ psi is great My bbk scoot was 190 psi Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank Wow, that puts the "Great" in "Great Leap Forward", Huzzah! Thanks, Hank! Not surprised that your scooter would be so amazing, such a shame that you don't have it anymore. Hi Your most welcome and it surely does Guess i will just have to build another and make sure i lock this one up as well as i do April They do seem to like stealing my bbk scoots first the Puma a few years back and now the RedStreak Makes me want to keep my Aprilia totally in stock form Take care and ride safely dear friend Yours Hank Can't wait 'til your next build, Hank! I doubt there's any karma associated with bbk scoots, and while it's up to you whether or not to mod your precious April I think only you can break the cycle (not the scooter, the crazy juju cycle of people stealing bbk scoots)! When did your daughter's red streak get stolen? I thought only Spectre was. Or am I just confused?
