Yeah I have thought about rejecting when I go for a less restrictive filter set up . Also have thought about an 18 mm carb . 24 Naraku carb is what I want but that would be like putting a Holley quadrant 4 barrel 750 on a Geo metro lol . So I putt it back and making a Christmas list ....72 bbk , 24 mm Naraku carb , and I saw a nice naraku clutch set up want . Next years riding season will be awesome .

Ok here's the question I am stuck on . Not too long ago I replaced my spark plug and it was dead normal according to the chart . So I'm thinking great my mix is right and everything . So the other day I took the cap off my carb to do some needle work and my needle is adjustable . I put the clip one notch down , raising the needle in the slide . I put it all together and scoot sounded great , nice response and sound . Took it for a ride and rode great . So I was thinking of taking the little cap off the snorkel that protrudes from the air box since now I am running a little richer than befor and to see if it would have any effect on performance . Slow jet was fine but when the main took over it spit and sputtered almost like to lean or not getting enough gas . Any ideas ? The little cap that has the four holes that goes on the end of the snorkel shouldn't have made that big of a differance should it ? Put it back on and ran like a charm . Was wanting to put a less restrictive filter on it at some point and know I would have to rejet or get a 18mm carb but realy the snorkel cap has that much effect on the thing ? Comments welcomed .

Ok guys and gals what is your favorite movie with scooter/cycles . One that you can watch over and over again . And why.
My fav is Grease 2 or The Wild One or The Great Escape . I know we should pic one but between these I just can't choose because I love them too much lol. Grease 2 because of all the old Hondas in it and the Yamaha xs650 he has at the end ( all pretty and white ) when she thought he was in like heaven . The Wild One because of the triumph marlin Brando rides is just awesome . The Great Escape ....Steve McQueen on that old triumph was just awesome . Both Marlin and Steve just because they were such great actors in their time . Easy Rider is an easy second and could almost tie for first as we'll as On Any Sunday but neither I could say I would watch over and over again any day all day . ;D What's your inputs ?

[replyingto=jwalz1]jwalz1[/replyingto]Lol same here ...wife starts to get that look in her eyes of " omg he's talking about scooters again " every time I talk about what upgrades I want to do or talk about scoots in general . Oh she also rolls her eyes when I point out the different kinds when they buzz by or I see them on the road lol.

I have been waiting a week without riding my scoot because the brace had broken because I had put the wrong bolts back on when I put a exhaust gasket on it. One bolt was longer than the other . Caused vibration and wasn't secured at all . I had a temp fix on it with a motorcycle muffler but it was way to loud , although looked good ....was a strait pipe with slash cut out. On a Harley it would sound good but on a scoot........no way. Anyway I ordered a replacement muffler from scootparts.nl and it came today . Was heavier than the original . Put it on and started the scoot .....puuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrr. Oh it sounded so good . Went for a quick ride thinking that well it is also quieter than the original maybe it's more restrictive . It wasn't ....aaaannndddd... No vibration at all , smooth as silk all the way from 0-70 kph. It sounded great and had all the power as befor . Went up hills at 60kph downhill around 74-76kph and flats around 70kph . Was awesome . So happy with them and they stayed in touch with me several times during the ordering , shipping , and arrival of it. Going to be ordering some more naraku parts and some chromies too . They have many many replacement stock parts including body panels and stuff . They also ship world wide . Small plug I know sorry admins but I truly am soooooooooooo thrilled with the new muffler ....raining now but going for another ride cheers

Lol yup . Things are a little different on this side of the pond .just to get a drivers license it costs 1500€ , for a scooter 407€, motorcycle is 900€ . The high schools have half their parking lots with scooters and little 125 cc cycles . Many people ride bikes and scooters . In the Netherlands there is a huge scooter community with many many roads just for walking, cycling and scooter traffic ....somewhat the same here in Finland too also the "emergency lane " is for walking , cycles and scooters also. Big tuner community too . The Chinese scooters are getting more popular but you don't dare sell those lower grade ones , referring to that grading system when at the factories .......many brick and mortar stores with service bays . But hey look what you have to compete with your like on Vespa, Piagio , Peogeot , Giliera, Aprilia ,and many more home turf lol. Keeway , sym , kymco, and the Japanese makes are looked at as good quality and the new comers as ok . Wish you would have been up north a little more , could have taken you on a great ride to Helsinki and surrounding countryside .

In my sig. you can see I almost exclusively buy Naraku performance or raceing parts . They cost more but there the same parts used in top performance scoots and motorcycles around the world . From what I have seen and heard from some of my scooter friends up here they swear by them . Not that others aren't good but if you want top of the line and build quality to match with a raceing heratage to back it i would say go with them .

Oh also do you have an exhaust gasket on it . That took out a nagging vibration big time when I put one on mine.

If the vibration started after the exhaust installation it could be the exhaust resonating more than the old heavy stock one . Could also be that the bolts attaching it to the scoot are too long and although you may have them buried or seated the shank could be to long and the pipe is not fully seated against the scoot . I had accidentally swapped my two bolts on my muffler , one was longer than the other . Vibration started the same way . Didn't realize it till the mount that had the too long bolt dot deformed and the other one that took all the stress cracked the mount on the muffler.....getting a new muffler now on order. If the vibration was there before the new muffler could be a stuck roller in the variator or could be the belt . Is the belt the original ? How many miles on it ?
