Did you check your fuel filter , silly question but I re-read your post and the thought just came to me a clogged fuel filter would bogg down and if fully clogged shut it down . The oil I would say if it was just wet that's ok , mine is wet , but if it's truly blowing oil out the hose then that's something else like rings or valve seats . Also when you replaced the plug how did the old one look ? How did it smell?

Lol yeah we see many people like that here or like in the winter after sauna take a dip in a lake or have a roll in the snow . I've done the roll in the snow several time . Pins and needles everywhere the snow touches lol. In Finland you sauna just like you bathe , no swimming trunks or towel rapped around you so when you have that roll in the snow , EVERY were the snow touches you get that rush so to speak lol.

Just my 2 cents worth , I used to restore old bikes and would get the project bikes at this motorcycle junkyard so to speak . They were mostly parked in this huge warehouse so didn't have sun light to beam down on them constantly but anyway . Many of the bikes were old Hondas with there original tires .....1960's to 1970's ....with the tubes still holding air . I rode many of them to test while still restoring them . Of course the rubber had hardened and slicked but still took chances on them until new rubber was put on them when completed . Never had one blow out but then would never sell one for someone to ride with them either . I remember one triumph I had , was a 68 bonneville I think , original grips rubber and still had the teets on the tires ...was like 20 or 30 miles on the odometer . The tire I kept and sold with the bike but with the expretion the tires were not for road use ....and I used to only buy used tires when going on my cars for a while till I had blow outs because of the old tires . Rubber breaks down , tires get old and unpredictable , I would never trust an old tire on a bike for anything other than an emergency to get a new one on later in the week or to the next store. To many memories of ridding those old project bikes and havering the front or back get slippery around a corner with that old rubber lol

Did you take the plug out and inspect it . It could be oil fouled . If so a little soaking in kerosene and then a cleaning with break cleaner usually puts back to operational statis . Or if it is too far fouled might put a new plug in and see if it will run . If so that fixed the no start . Now with the oil dumping it may be that one of the rings blew and will need a rebuild . If it starts with the new plug watch for smoke from the exauhst . Some at first would be ok as it would be burning what's in the cylinder that fouled the plug but if it continues and doesn't stop after the motor has run for a couple of minutes then a rebuild is in order . Went 135 KLM and averaged 70 kph . Oh and temp was 40-45 F . was a good ride , trees turning colors and snow sprinkles still on the ground in a couple of spots from when it snowed the other day for the first time this fall. Will be interesting in a couple of months. Getting my snow tires ready and mounted next month

Use it with a hammer . Not like a regular screwdriver. Think of it as a manual impact wrench, which is what it is. I've taken headbolts off of 351 Clevelands with my old one .

Yup first tool I bought when I started fixing bikes way back was a impact driver ( ya wack it with a hammer ) lasted me almost thirty years an then I gave it to my son . First honda I worked on had those screw head bolts and I stripped one trying it with a screw driver. Went down to ace hardware and bought it , took it right out too even though it was a little stripped . Get you one , they are a must have and usually only cost like 10-20 bucks last time I checked .

Hey everyone . I think I have decided on what to do next to my retro. I'm going with the 18mm carb . It's already set up for 50-70cc scoots . I was thinking about a bbk or carb . Old school hot rodder knows the more you can squeeze out of a motor the better but when you go over the design limits of the internals you can have problems . Although I have thought of getting a bbk the benifits of the low torque are off set by the lowered max rpm . Your moving more mass on parts not necessarily designed for it .Yes you can put taller gears to make up for the speed and eventually have a bigger bike so to speak but then your putting more strain on the parts than what they were designed to do. A bigger carb , better cam ( either for lower torque or higher rpm ) and a good exauhst are makeing the motor breath better and more efficient while still keeping the stresses within tolerance . My scoot does 64 on the flats with no problem add a slight decline or tail wind and it will do 76 without fail, also a slight incline or head wind and it steady at 60 . That's kph not mph lol. Adding a better/bigger carb and it will give me what I think I'm looking for . Of course this is from learning from hot ridding cars in the past and building rat bikes . What's your comments ?

Yes I think I read about that many years ago in motorcyclist magazine that there are different engine classes it has to fall under for registration and insurance purposes . Like I can remember back when the big four had multiple class of bikes ...ie...50,70,100,125 ,150,175,200,225,250,300,350,400,450,.....etc . Oh the good ol days when you started out small and then traded it in for a bigger model next year , now these kids almost start out on a 500-600 super bike and wonder why they wreck the darn things . Sorry but even a 250 hyper bike , although you wouldn't think so now because they start on 500-600s , is to much to start out with . Something that can take you to 100mph and you just graduated from a bicycle ? Come on .
