That's a nice one too, Hank, and has about 50 more ft.lbs. power for $10 more. Luckily these variator and clutch nuts never need more than 60ft/lbs (mine is 185, yours is 230 i believe). In fact, I think I probably over-did mine. I need to order a few of those nuts for backup.

I looked at that, too; the reviews weren't quite high enough for me to take that leap o faith. Would love to know about its performance when you get it.

I use reflective tape, both on helmet and bike. I just ordered some stealth kind (black during day, reflects light during night as white light). I'll make various designs from it and stick it to my matte black helmet and to the body of my bike. if you dont mind posting up the link for that tape, i would like to check it out. I dont plan on riding at night, but hey you never know and its always best to be safe than sorry This is the tape that I ordered because of how I like to use mine and for the deal you get for the quantity. But you can find wider/bigger if you look 'round. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001P3UR9U/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=ur2&psc=1&tag=towinthelotof-20

cool how much at wally world? This one is 40. comes with four sockets, nice where it's two per cylinder, including one close enough to variator size to fit w/o stripping. got 12v cig plugin and 12v optional battery clamp on. I like it.

First report; interesting and effective. I don't have a torque wrench like I should. This thing isn't exactly an impact wrench. The way it works is it spins up inside (w/o moving on the outside) then "hits" hard for a spin, then revs again (again, the socket stops moving) then it "hits" again. It's more like a hammering socket. I let it hit about five times for my variator. Is that enough? Dunno, but we'll find out. Takes it on and off with ease, plugged into my friggin scooter. Not half bad, so far.

Your 2nd one comes out to 6.5g so that's about what I got. My biggest desire was trying to get up to 40 or 45 flat. I went from 33 to about 35/36 wot average with the increase to 7. I presume your slower uphill speeds also apply to low-end accel. loss.

I may have lost a tiny bit of low-end acceleration by going from 6g to 7g Dr. Pulley sliders but gained a few mph top end. It was a fair tradeoff for me. The type of loss was not significant to me; if it took, for example, 4 seconds for me to get to 20mph before, now it takes between 5 and 6 seconds. I'm around 250 lbs or just under that on a 49cc. This is for anybody who wanted a reference.

Glad you told me about this; didn't know there was an app, and my regular web access is way to slow where I live. Thanks.

UPDATE: I just went ahead and slammed everything back together and it's running. My problem is I KNOW number 7 came out of that scooter, broken, and I'm pretty sure that not having a new one in there is gonna cost me. This makes me nervous is SHNAT!(And I know it wasn't one of those speed regulator's cuz I checked for that 10x, having a 49cc, as you would expect).

Is there any chance it's part of the clutch that broke off? ANd would that make a ringing/grinding sound if missing (like the needle bushing or 34) Attachments:

Ok yes I see. Here's what I've learned; the big one in the pic posted (2nd post this thread) fits nowhere except for over the boss, It won't fit on either side of the starter clutch, and even though the tiny bushing I ordered fits on either steel shaft end of the start clutch, neither will then go into their sockets. So now, I've got two parts that I cannot place, but I know that larger one came from something inside the scooter. Can you think of anyplace else #7 can go?

To tell you the truth I have never seen #7 as part of a Variator for a 139QMB or actually any other scoot. I think #7 is the Sleeve to hold the BENDIX if you ask me. See if it fits over the BENDIX SHAFT and into the holder inside the CVT COVER. #6 is your BOSS which is what the VARIATOR slides in and out on. Alleyoop Alleyoop Ok that must be what it is. Here's the thing, though; I ordered the tiny sleeve/bushing that goes right over the tip of the starter clutch (same thing as bendix? or?) to hold that steady; remember because you and others thought that when I had put everything back together, that was the problem; bendix teeth grinding with variator or something. This thing, if put it on the case cover side will not fit; it will hit the variator plate. And I also don't think he will fit behind the starter clutch. I'll go check again.

This shows the broken one, so I know it goes in. Please help if you got a sec. This is the difference between me riding or not, after a week and a half sidelined. Attachments:

I ordered numbers 6 and 7. I thought 7 was just a factory restrictor but a guy on the FB scooters page said it was a necessary part. 7 fits over 6. I can't imagine how else it would go on there. If put on first as a spacer, that doesn't work; can't get plate/fan in far enough to fit on gear-like retainer before you put final nut on. What am I doing wrong? Does 7 go somewhere else?
