Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with small displacement motorcycles, one of my all time favorite I had when I was younger was a Honda 160 scrambler, it was great. Its frame was bigger than that chopper frame is I am sure.

A stronger torque spring will not let you take off until you have a higher RPM going so you will feel a stronger take off than lighter weights. Lighter weights will let your motor rev higher but you would still take off at a lower RPM.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong on that.

Welcome to the forum You are not expecting too much. It should go the 50 out the box. I would first check the variator weights, might even just jump into a performance variator without even trying to tune the stock one. there is one on this web page for about $80.00 www.scrappydogscooters.com/125_150cc_Performance.htmlYou also may have one of those tuned too lean stock carbs, putting a bit bigger jet in it could solve that issue, but buying an aftermarket one that actually has adjustable air/fuel mixture screws would be nice. Check the link in my signature line for "how can I go faster".

It is basically a trapped air bubble, you would have to work at getting it out of there and I am not sure there is a good reason to do that.

OK, a little more here. I used about ten feet of rope in the cylinder to hold the crank still so I could get the variator and the flywheel off the crank shaft. Worked real well doing it that way. There were ridges worn on the crank, I am nor sure it makes the crank worn out. One of the theories about what the problem was, was a bad key on the crank, it was fine. Braking this puppy loose was a challenge, it was on there tight. When in popped it made a crack that sounded as though something did break, Anyway the flywheel looked good, I was not aware that the clutch for the starter is actually on the backside of this, I'll have to check it out later. The bushing one the starter driven gear looks real rough, I will replace the entire thing, I thought I took a pic of it but guess I missed that. I was pretty happy with the way the head looked, I'll pull the valves out later and see if they look good. The cylinder looked very good, no ridge at all I should have taken a few more pictures. If anybody has anything to let me know about these please chime in, this is my first water cooled bike motor. I did test it for play on the crank but pushing, pulling and wiggling the piston, seemed to be a little loose to me. I was wondering if the play in the oil pump drive chain was too much. For piece of mind, the chain, gear and pump will be replaced anyway.

I just looked at a couple 250cc service manuals, that is why I posted 10 AH (amp hours), like I said before I prefer as many cranking amps as I can get, so 10 would be the least in my way of thinking.

If you sell your computers it will cost you a lot more to buy one in Houston, unless you are picking up a cheap one off craigslist, same with the scooter. Houston is a big city and a freeway capable scooter would be really needed in my opinion.
I'd just make an agreement with the roommate to send her a hundred bucks a month for a eleven month period that way she gets a little interest and you don't loose a friend, hopefully.

You can go with a wet cell, it won't hurt anything, in fact if you are the kind of person that will check the battery fluid level on a regular basis I prefer them. If you are concerned about it being on its side and the battery acid spilling go with a sealed battery. For a 260 I would get at least a 10 AH battery.

I would get the most amps that would fit in the size battery you need. How old is your nattery.

I only looked at about 15 or 20 minutes of the first video, really no big revelations to me. When I was a kid we were taught that basic kind of stuff in school. Sure people can create promises. Given any financial crises it is always best to not be in debt for the individual, history proves that. It certainly makes no sense to be in debt when you retire, if you are, you probably did not plan well for that retirement and are going to try and live off of social security, if that is the case you really need to be out of debt.
