Hi all, My scooter will sometimes refuse to start unless I loosen the Phillips head screw as shown in this picture. Anyone know what this crew does or what that part is? Unless I loosen that screw, the scooter will turn over but will not start. When I loosen the screw gas leaks out, but it will then start. The scooter is Chinese built with a GY6 motor, 150cc. www.dropbox.com/s/w8tq6jxo5m8ontj/Photo%20Sep%2017%2C%204%2015%2059%20PM.jpg?dl=0

It would be helpful if you would show where the tube is connected at its other end. That screw appears to be nothing more than a plug, so knowing what's at the other end will help.

That is the float bowl drain hose plug, its supposed to stay tight unless you want to drain the carb bowl for storage or repair...Im assuming you need to take the carb out and do a full cleaning on all the ports and jets.Sounds like another case of the ethanol blues to me

Super Hornet video reference. Based on this image . . speculating the valve cover vent is routed to the gas tank through the white canister. Appears to have a vacuum-operated pulse-fuel-pump. This is a somewhat odd GY6 150 variation . . has bottom mounts similar to a 50.

What that is telling you float is hanging up or needle valve is one or other. Take float bowl off and check it out easy fix.

I'll see if I can get some better pics and show where the tube is coming from. My fuel gauge stopped working a few weeks back. The needle will sit on empty until about a quarter of a tank, then start coming up. Sounds like from the reply quoted above that may be related?
