Get a new head, they cost the same as inserts and are more of a sure-thing. In my experience inserts cause leaks around the plug which makes it run lean. Once I was lucky and the insert heated up to the point it melted into the head and made a great seal (not perfect), but that was purely luck I think... I later replaced the head anyways, costing me both the cost of a head and an insert kit... Take the easy route and just replace the head.
Get from scrappy. I order off his ebay shop sometimes.
I don't mess with the cam, I keep them stock but maybe someone else has insight on that.

i personally like the original scrappy site. have ordered most of my stuff from scrappy and while doin some site shopping came across scooter express with cheap prices and was curious on their quality. back to task at hand....i believe the 44mm bbk is all i need for my purpose and area i ride. is stock replacement head suitable? since im there does a9 cam yield any benefits with the setup? and top it off with 20mm carb maybe. im not lookin for 40+mph just a lil jump from 20-35mph and keep speed on a select few hills in my area. all in the name of proper scootering fun  |

Yeah you can use a stock 50cc head on any BBK, it just yields less power and you may not be able to fully take advantage of a 20mm carb but you can still use them all in the same setup, I just try to maximize my smaller scoots engines and try to get every bit of power I can get. In the city you need to be able to suddenly pull out of the way of accidents and potholes at the last moment, for me going from 30 to 40 suddenly is a must when riding the smaller scoots, not to mention a lot of roads around here even though it's the city have traffic running around 40+.

thanks for the advice on the website. Have you checked out chinesescooterparts.com lately? Looks pretty good and very modern with many features. We still have scrappydogscooters.com up and running because many people still like it. It's old fashioned, personable, and fast. Much of our delay in the new site was from incompetent developers and also budget. Our sales margins are very small, and we have very little to work with. As far as the scooter express site, good for him. Dan saved alot of money by stealing most of what he has, so apparently he's got the extra money to put into a website, much of which content is a direct copy and paste off of scrappydog's site, as Dan has zero experience in scooters or motorcycles and comes from the chemical industry and was also a stock market adviser, during which he was indicted and convicted of stock market fraud and served a federal sentence for such. If you want to support a true criminal and thief, who has no love or interest in scooters, and stole what he has from scrappydog for the mere intention of making money, then it's all yours. it's a free country! |

I'm sure karma will kick in eventually, but in the meantime... Try to give good advice, we don't really want to know about the inner workings or anything. I agree both of your sites are lacking in "ease-of-use" but the parts are always great ime. It might help to make your site a little easier for the less tech savvy, but that's really up to you and what you feel like doing. I personally recommend your site to everyone who asks me for a parts site, they often hit me up later asking how to find the parts and I end up having to guide them through your site... Other than that you're doing an excellent job man, keep it up. |

We do have free technical support via tech@scrappydogscooters.com and also on our tech page on our site where many common questions are answered. There are also tech advice in many of the parts listings, and we actually answer the phone and help those in need directly over the phone.
Our new site seems to be very easy to navigate and there is an actual search function.

actually placed order today from scrappy for a replacement stock head and few other small items. i think 44mm bbk will be a winter project along with some other accessories for next spring |

lol. question i have is whether to buy new head or try rethreading or inserts.
