You could always get a brand new long case engine for like $300 shipped for your tao tao if you're that worried about it, then everything would be brand new. But 3300km is not bad esp if it's mostly stock. I'll tell you as much as anyone about Chinese reliability, but yours should have plenty of life left. I just bought a '15 thunder with 5600km off Craigslist in High Point. It was only $200 but it had a few issues, mostly from previous owner(s)'s poor workmanship, but I got it running better than new for under $100 in parts. I came this close to picking up a pristine '13 kymco in Greensboro for $1000 but couldn't pass up how ridiculously cheap the tao tao was and to be honest, I really liked the updated styling of the thunder. It's a good looking bike. But it will probably be my daily rider soon too so I understand your desire for a better made scooter.

I have had 3 Taotao cy-50a scooters and I have been quite happy with them. Very few problems with any of them.
