Question 1 I'm mostly cut'n'pasting from the other thread-- There was a bit of issue when I rev'ed Peej on Mon during sit'n'idle. I have no rpm-gauge thing (revometer?) so I can't tell you at what point it happened. Maybe halfway through throttling? The rev'ing actually died down, more like the idle was. Definitely a loss of power. Tried it several times, dropped to idle, then tried a few more times. Last one there was a bit of a kick even on the center stand with the brake in. Then the engine rev'ed up just fine. So analysis, anyone? My official non-mechanicky blonde theory is there was something that got gunky from sitting a month+ that was restricting the fuel, that got pushed through from the multiple revings 'til the last one cleared it out of the way, or pushed it on through, or something technical like that. ***** Question 2--what is going on with my battery and/or Battery Tender Jr? I noticed last week it seemed to be flashing green more than I've seen before. I know that means something like it's mostly charged but not fully. As usual after I've run Peej, the Tender was steady red when I plugged it back in last Mon when I let Peej idle. Today, Mom commented that the little green light is flashing between green and red. ?? Of course when I looked, it was flashing green instead. Anyone know what's with the green-red flashing? >'Kat

The fuel injector might be dirty, the fuel system is the first to suffer from troubles when a vehicle sits for a long time, if that is the problem, your mechanic wont have problems cleaning it, it is an easy task. About the battery, how old is it?

Battery is original, so 2007. I always keep it plugged into the Tender unless I'm driving several days in a row (then Peej gets parked behind the car) (in front of? Hm. What's the proper term when the scoot is at the rear of the car but at the entrance of the garage?) >'Kat

Oh, and the last couple fillups I added the crapanol-killer stuff to the gas. Stabil or Startron or something--it's in the other room and I'm being too lazy to go see what it's called. You know what I mean ! >'Kat

If the battery was new in 2007 then it has served you well. Probably time for a new battery. Even car batteries have a average life expectancy of 4-6 years.

7 years!!! That's a record for a battery to last, I believe it is time for a new battery.

Agreed, the flashing light on your battery tender is telling you something is not right..... Probably a bad cell if I had to guess. My little 50cc goes through a battery almost every year like clockwork... You got about as much life from that battery as you could..... May I ask what brand/type it is ?? Curious minds want to know As for the sputtering, You may want to add a bit more Stable/Seafoam/ whatever you are using.... Or simply run the tank down to empty and refill with fresh gas unless your parking for the winter. Good Luck!!!!!!

Please forgive my utter ignorance, but how can a cell just go bad like that? I mean, it's been fine for over a month, 'til just this bit ago when it started the green flashing.
Should I unplug the Tender, or leave it connected and hope that it'll still start come spring? Then again, it did start fine last Monday on the center stand. So then should I continue my plan of starting Peej every week or so as I usually do through the winters? Or just let him sit now 'til spring? And if sit, plugged or not plugged in?
As for the brand...uh...whatever Piaggio dictates from their dealers? Sorry, I have totally not the slightest clue. And bugger if I know where to look. I'm guessing it's somewhere under the plastics? I will be sure come spring to ask my mech and report it here. Unless it's pretty easy to look and find out, without any tools?
horace, can't really refill the tank 'til spring due to the feet. Dr said it would be ok to scoot again then. Didn't say anything about sooner. And knowing I'm not allowed to go barefoot for a year, I'm guessing there's no wiggle room on scooting early.

If it's a battery tender the flashing green light means it's maintaining,,,,as far as the stuttering while it was running I'd wager a guess of just sitting too long,,gas in the system getting a little funky

As you know sitting gas will go bad have someone drain tank and get new fuel and add a little carburetor cleaner like couple table spoons full then take it for along ride. I believe in doing simple things first don't over think it if it was OK before you got hurt most likely bad gas.

Thanks for all the advice, guys. I'll be sure to let my mech know about the idle weirdness next spring. Like ricardo said, I'm sure they'll know what to do, but at least I'll be able to offer your suggestions and thus not seem like a total non-mech. Of course, that impression will evaporate when I ask them what the battery is.... I still would like to know before doing, will it be ok to continue to start and idle Peej every couple weeks? Or should I now just leave him on the Tender 'til spring? Or keep him off the Tender and off the idling? I am of course hoping that come spring I'll be able to still drive him to ScooterWorld, rather than pay for them to pick him up. >'Kat

Not my way at all. Put it away with a full tank of fuel and then leave it alone until you are ready to ride it.
All those cold starts in cold weather without a load on it and no miles (shudder). Not a good thing for the motor.

Actually the Piaggio 200cc motors were not fuel injected, even the vespas , the 200 was a Leader motor and Piaggio didn't use injection until the Quasar 244cc motor.
