Some things you just can't prevent. Get well, get up and ride some more. Good call on wearing the gear. Please keep us updated, both on the healing and the scoot...

Hey RG. judging from the picture, I'd just buy another. It would be a real Bear to have to go ahead and rebuild it, and would end up costing more than the bike is worth. Success and speedy recovery from your operation.

Sorry about your wreck, Ricardo. Get well soon. Have a bone on me for wearing your gear.

You might be able to make a naked scoot, similar to a Ruckus, from your crashed one. Good luck with your surgery and enjoy the pain killers while the prescription lasts.

The frame is bent at the steering head so that frame is history. You may be able to save the motor and some bits but the bike is history unless you replace at least the frame, single tree, handlebars, forks and front rim. Add the cost of the body panels and you could probably by a good used BV 500 for about the same or potentially less (at least here in the states that's possible).
I was fortunate that I did not hit the curb and that the Aprilia is built like a tank. Gear does save a lot of grief and one can only imagine where you would be now without it. Hopefully not pushing up daisies in some pastoral setting with a pleasant view and lots of granite and marble.

Wow. Seeing those pics, I'm even more glad you wear gear. That's not pretty. Have an easy surgery, and post when you're off the drugs--never post while drugged or drunk! >'Kat

Looking at the state of the scoot, it would be easier (and cheaper) to buy another one, I found one exactly like mine at a reasonable price, I can use the wreck for spare parts, and if the frame is not busted, it could turn eventually into a custom build scooter SOme duct tape and a little WD40 and she'll be good to go.... No, but on a serious note, that looks like one heck of a spill.... Like Kat said, it's a good thing you had on your gear... This should serve as a reminder to all of us to gear up when we go out riding... Glad your recovering BTW, You survived, your scoot didn't... Does that mean humans are more durable than scooters? Here's to wishing you a speedy recovery!

I too, am sorry to hear of your misfortune, and wish you a speedy full recovery. Your scoot is a sorry looking mess, kinda like it was hit bt a train.....are you sure hitting a curb caused that much damage. Gotta believe, that you wearing your saftey gear, is the only reason you are still around........Get well soon
