Why? My grandfather's old 1911 was WW2 surplus...still works perfectly. (IIRC, the serial number is from 1938.) Heck, for a long time, he would put a couple hundred rounds through it every WEEK, (He'd go through a 10,000-round CRATE of ammo in a couple months.)
My uncle can still put the entire mag on a paint can at 50' ten times out of ten.

Have fun guys,,and always practice your 2nd amendment!!!

I use to own a single shot 12 gauge but sold it awhile back. If i buy a new one it will be a saiga for sure. They are pretty much a 12 gauge AK 47 , great reliability . Do u have your carry license for NJ ? If so do u carry the bersa 45 ? Many don't like use the 45 as a carry gun , due to size ,weight ,and recoil , but I love my ria 45. If u have your carry license , was it hard to get in NJ ?

No Geh,,the carry is very hard to get here,,i just have my firearms ID card and have to apply for a pistol permit every time I buy a pistol,,its $65 plus wait time for over two months,,if you have a business that is in a high crime rate area NJ will give you a permit to keep a pistol behind the counter,,or a carry permit,,but its very hard...I plan on moving to Pa. one of these years cause I'm not a huge fan of NJ gun laws,,if somebody breaks into my house,,I have to prove that they where going to try and kill me first if I shoot them,,if I don't have that proof,,i can go to jail.So Jersey stinks man,,but i tell ya what,,if somebody comes in my house at night or whenever,,and they are not invited and acting like they want to steal, kill,or rape,,I'm gonna blow their head clean off....will have to deal with the law later,,safety of my family comes first,,and if I have to sit in jail to protect them ,,,,so be it....

If u have your carry license , was it hard to get in NJ ? That Saiga is pretty sweet! That barrel DOES look a tad on the short side though. I smell a class III tax involved there... HeHeHe... Here in Texas, we see it all. The AK variants are extremely popular, and any box-magazine 12 gauge is in big demand. Last show I went to, a class III dealer was selling a Remington 12 gauge that was BELT-FED and SELECT-FIRE. I can't think of anything much nastier than a belt-fed, full-auto 12 ga. LOL!
The worse our federal government gets, the more "interest" citizens are getting for the 2nd Amendment.
Remember what John Wayne said, as "Rooster Cogburn". When a pettifogging attorney sarcastically asked "did you approach my clients brandishing a loaded and cocked revolver?" Rooster repilied "well, an EMPTY and cocked revolver ain't good for much...". Or something to that effect. We don't need a typical "President"... We need the "Duke"... Yup.

I remember Jeff bridges as " rooster cogburn " lol. Great movie . I haven't seen the old one yet. Good grief, I AM getting old! I didn't even know there WAS a remake of Rooster Cogburn.
The "original" original was "True Grit". You'd enjoy BOTH the John Wayne Rooster Cogburn movies. The Duke just always knew how to portray a real American, from ANY time period. His characters always knew instinctively who to hug, and who to kill.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes from "The Duke"...
When I was a sophomore at USC, I was a socialist, pretty much to the left. But not when I left the university. I quickly got wise. I'd read about what had happened to Russia in 1917 when the Communists took over. ________________________________
Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid. ________________________________
I'm not the sort to back away from a fight. I don't believe in shrinking from anything. It's not my speed; I'm a guy who meets adversities head on. ________________________________
Courage is being scared to death... and saddling up anyway. ________________________________
And my personal favorite, his "mantra" for life:
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do these things to other people and I require the same from them." ________________________________
EVERY man or woman running for ANY office in American government should FIRST pass a SERIOUS background check to weed out the really unqualified: criminals, traitors, non-citizens, Socialists, or any who would use their office to subvert our Constitution. Our Democratic REPUBLIC (America is NOT a democracy, but a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC) tolerates citizens BEING Communist, or Socialist, BUT absolutely prohibits them from holding office. That's the LAW and just common sense which we have somehow lost over the last few decades... THEN, they should be forced to READ our CONSTITUTION. THEN they should read ALL of the published John Wayne quotes. They are a good inspiration for any American.
I truly wonder how many of our recent "Presidents" since Eisenhower and Truman, from EITHER party could have passed the background checks required by law. Had those background checks been performed, and enforced, America would be a much different country today... And a far better one.
When you sleep with DOGS, you're going to get FLEAS. Our federal government could benefit from a strong-arm application of a BIG flea-collar, pulled choking-tight. Just my opinion...

Yeh , they made a remake of " true grit " a few years ago . it was really good. I bought it when it came out on blu-ray .
Its crazy when a president can so blatantly defy the constitution and the laws of our country , and no one does anything about it. Also its ashame when we have a president that can make race relations so much better in our country but instead decides its better to make it worse , and when the actions of the president and attorney general lead to the deaths of law enforcement, and others . and still nothing is done? This is the most disgraceful administration ever to set foot in Washington.
I better stop thinking about it , I get to worked up ,lol

We should have a debate pit section for topics like this,,man I really get worked up about it....and it feels good to vent

"Those generic receivers are definitely worth researching. If somehow they slip through the cracks of the handgun/rifle parts controversy, they would be mighty handy for the home-builder or pro alike!
Certainly worth checking into!"
Having built a few firearms, it is perfectly legal to build a receiver for a handgun.
When receiving a pre-built receiver, I believe (i.e. I might be wrong on this...) you have to specify the purpose at the time you get it from the FFL. A handgun receiver can always be repurposed for a rifle, but never in reverse. And once a handgun receiver is used for a rifle ( be sure to put the barrel on FIRST, BEFORE THE STOCK, or you will temporarily have an SBR), it cannot be switched back.
When building from 80%, all of the same rules apply, though the BATFE will not know if you ever used your homebuilt receiver in a charger-like handgun before you used it for a rifle... or vice-versa. If that homebuilt is ever transferred through an FFL, it has to be declared one way or the other, and then follow the applicable laws.

Thanks for spelling it out!
In my case, I simply want a custom Ruger Charger, and getting a new Charger complete receiver solves the problem fine. A little more cost than a 10-22 rifle, but only a little. And I end up with just what I want, and it's all legal and proper.
Stay safe, stay legal...

Geh3333 and Jerseyboy...
I'm in total agreement with you guys! A proper background check (and decent people getting off their butts and VOTING) could have avoided a LOT of this unconstitutional law by executive order, ISIS wouldn't have their leaders (they'd still be in Gitmo) and the whole world (especially Israel, many of the Arab nations and the USA) would be better places to live.
It's probably best to get off the subject at this at this point, since it's likely getting too political for the site. So far, we all agree, but surely there are many out there who violently disagree with our patriotic thinking. I don't ever want to start any ugly posting because of political views. I'd LOVE to talk patriotism and politics with you all, but this is just not the proper place to do so.
I do believe we would see eye-to-eye on most politics and religion, but we'd better get off those subjects here. I wouldn't want the moderators to kill this thread... It's mighty enlightening already. Probably gone far enough though.
So... Pray, vote, and enjoy the ride!

I know you guys agree,I wont post anymore political stuff on this site just because its such a great scooter site and I don't want to stir up any animosity. There are plenty of other places we can voice out opinions like youtube and yahoo.
In the end truth will prevail.
