I've had my scoot for nearly 4 yrs and this is the 4th battery I've bought . I was going to buy a lithium battery from advance auto but they didn't have a 9bs . it was also over $100 !!! They weight about 1/4 a regular battery maybe even lighter . what brand is my your stock battery ? I usually buy an ever start " never start" from Walmart . I've also bought a diehard from k-mart before and it also didn't last long . my new battery is on charge right now .

You think it would, lol Yeah,,it will even block when I abbreviate a bad word sometimes,,surprised it didn't block dong...lol...the Ever-start is probably going to be my next battery,,i had one for 8 years in my wife's old yota..good batteries. Is your charging system up to snuff on that scoot Geh? Whats the voltage read when off/idling/then at 5k rpm or so..it needs to be between 13.5v and 15v. with about 0.5 charging current amps.

TBA I never checked it. It seems its always the cold that kills them . I even had my battery last winter connected to a trickle charge on the porch , and it still died. When the battery held a charge I would jump it , then after riding to the store or wherever , it would start with no problem , then after sitting for a couple days it would die again. They usually ran good until winter , then the problems with having to jump them would start. My best bet would probably be to bring it in during the winter " when I'm not ridding" and keep it charged , then keep it in all through the warmer months.

You might want to do a drain test,,maybe you have a slight 1mA or more current drain in one of your electrical components,,a bad diode,or switch could cause a slight amount of current to drain from batt with scoot off.
Get your DVM and put it on mA setting 200mA or so,,then just remove the positive lead from the battery and series the DVM probes from positive side of batt to lead you removed,,with key off look for any mA on the meter,,if there is more than 1 you have a problem someplace with a small drain,,finding that is only a matter of unplugging connectors until you see the current disappear.
Just a thought....

Just a thought.... I'll def do that after I pull the side cover and get the starter clutch in . I'm also Replacing the rear transmission " gearbox" seal its been leaking for awhile now , so I'll have the whole rear end tore apart, fun fun fun ,lol. I'm waiting for the 40-50 degree weather this coming week to get it done. I haven't rode the scoot in almost a month now ! Can't wait to get back on it .

Wednesday is going to be 50 here....cant wait! I might squeeze in a 20 mile rip.
I need to get the synthetic out of my crankcase and get some dino oil in there for the break in on this BBK. Well they say that todays synthetic oil isn't really 100% synthetic anyway so i might just leave it....it will break in eventually,,it has no choice...lol
