I'll try to explain this problema. at 35mph EXACTLY, every time, My scoot DIES untill it slows down to 30mph, then takes off like a bat outta hockey sticks until 35mph again. TGB delivery 50cc Bone stock. It normally hauls at 43-45mph de restricted. The problem just started yesterday.
Carb is spotless, float height is perfect. I'm thinking the petcock is malfunctioning. Maybe a collapsing vacuum line to the petcock issue (i've read about it in TGB forums)? it feels like the fuel bowl empties and i have to wait for it to refill before it can take off again. But i can only use whats been refilled before it acts up again. I can get a gopro tomorrow of the problem, it will mostly be just audio as I dont (yet) know where to point the camera.

That sounds like the same problem I had. Turned out to be a vacuum leak. The pump couldn't keep up with fuel demand and the bowl would empty faster than it could fill up, at least that's my assessment of the situation. I put in new lines and it ran great.

I agree with scooter, your problem sounds like a fuel problem. If possible you should try running a gravity feed fuel line from the tank to carburetor. That way the reliance on vacuum pressure and petcock are eliminated. If your fuel tank is mounted on the floor, you'll have to replace the petcock and vacuum lines.

Its already 2.1gal gravity feed from the area under the seat where most would put their baggage or secure their helmet, and is a vacuum actuated petcock like any other sunny , handsome boy, etc. Ruckalikes not included (they have a vacuum operated fuel pump. Not just a diaphragm to open the fuel feed like the rest of the lot). Finding the right threads (talkin' ISO and metric here) to connect the tank fittings for some sort of: tank thread> proper size barb for the carb have been elusive.

A gravity feed system has a line straight from the tank to the carburetor. No petcock involved.

Most gy6 and 2smokes rely on the vaccum from the intake manifold to open the fuel petcock during cranking because MOST (not all) scooter and moped fuel tanks are above the carb and people as well as manufacturers are lazy. the rare instance being ruckus and ruckalikes and a few piaggios that have the tank in the floor. They use the vaccum during cranking to operate a fuel "pump" that moves the fuel upwards to the carb from the tank in the floor. Most scoots have their tanks under where the rear seat rider would be. Mine is kinda in between...Unfortunately.
Edit: Still running automix with amsoil intimidator.

Check the fuel delivery, itistheride.boards.net/thread/144/check-fuel-deliveryAlso did you by chance change the CDI recently? Reason I ask it if you bought a CDI it may be Rev Limited and when they reach a certain RPM they cut out and come back and act just like yours is doing.

Nope, same old cdi. On tgbs you snip the brown CDI wire to de restrict. I went through the sequence on your thread and fuel delivery checks out. Today was the first day I have driven my car in months because of this little bug.

How is the fuel line coming from the tank to the carb, any loops or up and downs on it. Do you have it as straight as possible from the tank to the carb? How about some pictures of the carb and hoses .

Uploading gopro video now...6minute 4k video takes 2 hours to upload to YT Ill try to get some stills of the fuel and vac lines when I run outta fuel. You cant get a good picture of them with the plastics on because the tank and seat bucket are in the way.

HAHAHA, yea youtube is a slow loader. Well hopefully I can see something that is not right that may help the situation.
But that certainly sounds like a fuel delivery problem or a CDI problem cutting out then regaining power again. Alleyoop

I agree. Funny thing is that during the video ride it was cutting out at just 30mph! After the video I put the trunk back on and went shopping and it was cutting out at 35 again. I also noticed if I hold the throttle just a tad less than WOT than I can get to 37mph. This has me leaning towards fuel issues not CDI.

If it Speeds up after backing off the throttle a little it is running LEAN and if it cuts out on you after running up for a little bit it is RUNNING VERY LEAN and getting HOT. So make sure you have the AIR FILTER on and NO CRACKS in the AIR TUBING. Also you may need to up jet your main jet at LEAST 2 sizes.

22 degrees, First start of the day. Sorry about the jello, I had the frame rate set too high. Also I have not re jetted for the winter. I was riding it in the single digits and still hitting 45mph a week or so ago. I was riding WOT the whole time during the video with no release of throttle unless i was turning or stopping.
