Hey guys, I was putting off posting hoping I could find the answers elsewhere. I found a lot of good stuff so far, but missing a few pieces. I'd like to say my mechanical skills are pretty bad. I can change the oil, filters, lights, I have diagrams for all the wiring, it's kinda sketch but I'm decent with electronics. right now I just want to get it running smoothly. I'm very happy with the power in this. I'm only a half mile from work but all the roads are 45/55. So I can keep up with traffic well enough. Haven't tried out any of the hills around here yet. Will do that, when I get my tags/etc. I have one of the Jonway YY250T/Shanghai Shenke blah blah blah scooters with the Honda clone 244cc engine in it. I can't seem to locate the valves everyone talks about adjustment. My bike seems not to do well with cold starts. I have to rev it until it gets up to running speeds, then it idles just fine. (maybe also need to turn the idle speed up?) Where would I find that as well? I just bought this used with a about 5k miles on it. I have a list of to dos when I get the extra money, but I'm trying to do as much as possible now before I put more money into it. Is there a way to take the turn signal and brake light covers off without removing body panels? I want to try and clean them up a bit. I know I can change the lights without doing it, but I want to clean the actual covers part. I'm trying to find the valves for this bike to adjust them. Are they on the side shown or on the side with the muffler? Do I need to remove the cvt cover and the air filter (shown, I think) and the body as well? I tried looking underneath, but couldn't find anything that looked like the two valve arcs I've seen. List of things to replace/do. -Battery (currently has to be jumped) -fuses (check fuse box cables) -turn signal lights(breaks head lights work for now) -change oil -spark plug -adjust valves. Feel free to add suggestions, but my mechanical skills are limited diagrams, help.

You need to change oil frequently...I had a Honda-clone 244, and they have no filter. (I went 1000 miles.)

The valve adjustment will be on the right side the muffler side: Alleyoop No, the valve adjustment is on the left side of the engine. Same side as the air filter housing.

I adjusted the idle to around 2000 rpm to keep it from sputtering and dying after start up. I noticed that the rpm's drop to around 1500 ever other minute or so, then back up. I haven't adjustment the valves yet, should that go away with the valve adjustment or is there something else I should look into?

Check for vac leaks and intake leaks, that will lean it out. There are tons of places for leaks on that engine. Your system may be similar to the link I provided.

Adjust the valves first as you will probably need to readjust the carb afterwards so why do it twice. Many people do it the other way around and find that they just end up setting the carb pretty much just the way it was before.

Any tips on replacing tires? Looks like my rear tire is leaking around the valve stem

So, I've got the tires fixed. Yay.
I'm on to checking for bouncing RPM issue. When checking the tires for leaks I found it best to use a spray bottle to wet the tires and look for bubbles, will this work for checking leaks on hoses? For those that have a similar bike than me, is there a way to do this without removing the side panels?
