I have a gy6 150cc US Titan. It's a Tank or Roketta style scooter in my avatar picture. I am blowing oil all over the engine bay. Today I took it out without the body on it. It appears the oil is coming out near the spark plug, where the plastic cooling cowling meets the valve cover. I adjusted the valves and put a new gasket on the cover, but it still leaks oil. I blew into the hose leading from the valve cover to the plastic canister and it seems to have good flow. I don't know how many miles the bike has on it, as the odometer is broken, but it runs strong. Any advice?

if it's leaking from the valve cover then try using a thin coat of gasket maker. every time i adjust my valves i always put a coat on and never had a problem with leaks from the cover.

BTDT. Oil drips from the valve cover down in to the cooling shroud and then gets blown all over by the cooling fan. Some of this will help the valve cover gasket seal. Just don't get too carried away. A little squish out is good, but you don't want clumps of it getting loose inside the engine and clogging up your oil passages.

Thank you. I will try that. Right now I have the cowlings off and the oil is literally blowing forward, getting on the gas tank, the fuel pump, everywhere!

Sure the oil is not coming out of the valve cover vent? usually indicated too much oil in the engine or possibly a compression ring is worn down or damaged. When my scooter did it it was the compression ring. One of my customers it was too much oil.

Okay, I put the grey stuff on, let it dry for about 7 or 8 hours, and it worked. for about 20-30 miles. Now I'm seeing spots of oil. Still waaaaay better than the huge oily mess it was. The valve cover gasket was flat.
About a month or two ago I adjusted the valves and put on a new valve cover gasket. It was leaking like when I posted this. It stayed dry for maybe three days. I didn't think the leaking was the same gasket. I figured maybe fixing the gasket caused a new leak somewhere else. Long story short it was the same gasket again. I'm assuming I am running it too hard or I have some issue with high pressure. The tube that goes to the canister, is that an EGR, is open with the motor off. I can blow through it easily.

The goop seems to have stopped the leak, at least 99% of it. No I am not sure of anything. I am a real newby at this. Been riding a scooter going on three months.

whats still dripping may just be the build up on the bottom of the scooter dripping off a little at a time
