Hello!
I am new to this forum, and know the bare minimum about mechanics, etc. But I am really broke, and need to fix this thing myself.
I have had my Rowdy scooter for a year. It has had tons of problems. The current issue is, my belt keeps snapping and my rollers keep cracking. I am not ripping on the throttle, but it keeps happening.
I want to know how to replace the belt and the rollers, which parts to get, and if there are specific changes I can make inside the bike to make it more reliable.
Someone from scootdawgs said:
"If it is hitting 53mph it has 13/40 gears if its GY6 157QMJ get 15/38 gears and you will pick up about 6-8 mph on your top end.
If you want to lower your rpms by 500-600 put in 1 gram heavier rollers.
Rollers=For every gram up or down your rpms will change by 500-600.
Sliders=For every gram up or down your rpms will change by 200-350. "
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Rollers keep cracking!! and Belt keeps snapping!! You must buy the cheapest rollers around and belt is what I would say. As for the rollers cracking you are the first person to be having that problem. Pictures of the cracked rollers would be good and belt.
You say your not ripping on the throttle yet this things are happening, so that means that there is something in the CVT that is causing this.
Good belts are your BANDO and GATES, best weights that will last are DR. PULLEY weights. So you have to pay up front for good parts, just remember you probably spent more replacing the cheap parts with more cheap parts than you would have buying 1 set of good parts.
Pictures of Inside your CVT would be good and pic of your cracked weights and belt as well. Alleyoop

I can confirm split/cracked rollers. my BMS Heritage came with what I believe is 17 gram rollers. When I changed them out at 250 miles they were all deformed and beginning to separate from the metal core. I switched to 12 gram sliders and didn't lose any top speed, just gained some acceleration.

Rollers don't just crack unless they were probably rejects and cheap as dirt. HUNDREDS of people on here and the two other popular forums FIRST ever of cracked rollers, flat spots yes. Maybe they got so flat that they then would crack, but that also indicates of very cheap rollers to wear so fast. Same with your belts you go and buy 10 dollar belts don't expect it to last very long. But all in all its the fault of the owner, they jump on this things and expect them to run forever without doing some checking and or maintence until the thing breaks. I have seen HUNDREDS of CVTS so bad after I tell them to take the CVT cover off and put up a picture, like a rats nest in there RUSTY PARTS DIRTY as heck. Most of this folks are young pups that all they want is speed I can just see them HUNCHED over the handlebars going downhill and the rpms going sky high and all of a sudden the motor motor dies. Then you see them here with a major problem. Alleyoop CASE IN POINT: itistheride.boards.net/thread/6396/help-2010-qlink-hawk-50?page=1&scrollTo=73044

Lol yep u don't want to redline these scoots , I ride mine hard but I do keep it under 8000 rpms . I also wore my clutch out and which caused other cvt issues by riding hard so it's not a good idea to run these scoots to hard .

I understand your frustration, Alleyoop. My old Honda was practically indestructible, but these Chinese scooters break easily. I bought this one used and have been chasing down and fixing problems ever since. Everywhere I look on the bike there are body panel tabs missing, screws on so tight that I can't get them loose, my clutch was missing a chunk of aluminum, causing it to vibrate, I had to cut the nut off to get it off because neither I or a mechanic or the scooter shop could get it loose, plus I have several issues that I have written threads about. I bought what I could afford, and I'm learning to take care of it, but I sure miss my Honda after trying one of these cheap scooters out. I enjoy working on it but it's a never ending chore. Right now I have to re-weld my kickstand bracket on the frame. It cracked when I pushed the bike over a little in the dirt to make it lean a little. These things are very delicate, and it's hard to justify putting a lot of money into something that's not worth $1,000. Since the economy tanked in 2008, things have not been so good. Cheap is very appealing when you don't have much to spend.

Hi badateverything,
I have a Rowdy 150. 17 grams rollers are too heavy for this scoot. I replaced stock variator to HOCA performace 115mm one and put a 13 grams rollers. also replace belt with powerlink gates one and you will see the difference.
