I really like seeing this write up. I get Sooo Tiirredd of reading about the latest Harley hog or Indian. Especially when each bike is essentially the same. So they changed the seat shape or color, maybe they put on some fancy(translate that to mean more expensive) exhaust, Whoopee! My scooter has more character than any HD and because I also own a cruiser motorcycle I can say my scooter is a lot more fun. I hope they keep the scooter reviews coming. If there was a scooter magazine I would subscribe!

I'm coming up on 7000 miles. With about 4000 on the NCY 61mm bbk. My scoot has been great and only once has it left me stranded, but I can't complain it was my own fault. I wanted to see how many miles I could get from a cvt belt... ya, not one of my better ideas.

Let me clarify. No performance clutch springs or other clutch gizmos. The NCY sliding sheave allows the cvt to have a smooth transition through the rpm range. Everything I have done to the scoot is for longevity. My rpm's at 55mph run 5900-6000, between the ceramic heat dissipating coating, the exhaust and head porting/polishing heat is extracted quickly from the top end and cylinder jug. I have a large B&M supercooler mounted on the underside of the belly that is very efficient at cooling the oil. When I turn the pump on the temp drops 20+ degrees depending on ambient temperature. A long ride (20 miles) at 55mph gives me about 200 degrees of oil temperature on a ninety degree day. So to say performance enhancements=degraded longevity doesn't really answer my question. And yes I have researched this question and have not found an answer.

I seem to be replacing my variator about every 2000 miles. The bronze bushing wears and then the variator gets wobbly on the variator spacer. Additionally if I continue to run with the loose variator the spacer gets corroded and rough. I am running a vented cover (where the cover has been cut away over the clutch bell) and no filter on the front. Variators I used are Koso and DMJ (?). Could it be poor quality materials? I would spring for a Prodigy or Dr. Pulley if I thought they would last longer.

I put new shocks on the scoot last week along with a new front tire. I used Forsa shocks from Partsforscooters (my favorite scooter parts place). The change is really nice. The front vibration is gone, the scoot handles high speed bumps (45mph plus) much better and the steering seems lighter. How much of the difference is the tire and how much is attributed to the shocks is unknown. I would say it was definitely worth the money, and I wish I had done it sooner.

That is awesome! My scoot is getting a new pair of shoes next week along with new rear brakes, and a high torque starter. I think I'll add the shocks to the list.

My job can be VERY FRUSTRATING. Without a way method of release or escape, it can overwhelm and destroy a persons self worth and mental health. I react badly to certain drugs, get a hangover after 3 beers and couldnt find any soothing and calming quality within a church. I discovered (fell in love with) scooters when my daughter needed cheep transportation for college and wanted a Honda Metropolitan. I thought it would be a good distraction from idocracy, but I was wrong... It has been a great distraction that has brought many hours of relaxation and fun. I chose a china GY6 because I wanted to be able to spend hours tinkering and modifying at the same time as soothing my battered psyche. In case your wondering... I teach elementary school.

I can confirm split/cracked rollers. my BMS Heritage came with what I believe is 17 gram rollers. When I changed them out at 250 miles they were all deformed and beginning to separate from the metal core. I switched to 12 gram sliders and didn't lose any top speed, just gained some acceleration.

A quick update on this company. Greg Marshall at Scooter parts place gave me a RMA for the part but refused to give a refund. I was forced to file a dispute with the credit card company to get a refund. I have since found that this is his standard operating procedure. For proof of this check this link <http://www.yellowpages.com/philadelphia-pa/mip/scooter-parts-place-452248376> From now on I always search for company references before I order and consequently Scrappy Dogs has gotten many of my dollars!

Your scoot is basically the same as mine, I have a 2012 verson BMS Heritage 150 BN150QMJ. Mine acted the same way when I got it so I decided to follow the advice of the smart people on this forum. At about 300 miles I changed the variator weights to 12 grams (factory originals were 17 gram and already deformed from being excessivly heavy). I then changed my main jet from the 105 original to a 115. I would reccomend getting the jet kit from ebay that has many different sizes in it so you can find the one that works for you. I live in central florida so the riding conditions are similar. I am now at 2100 miles and the scoot has been great, never let me down and I always seem to attract questions from people. Good luck.

I ordered a NCY BBK from them. The correct part was drop shipped from Scooterworks USA. So I'm not sure if they are a stocking dealer or just an internet business that ships from a 3rd party.
